Generally floundering. Yogi, knitter, walker, sci fi nerd, occasionally sweary, Scottish, retired engineer, frequent user of the block button, rehomed Elsie the German Shepherd. She/her

It's Elsie's gotcha day, one year since we collected her from Dogs Trust Shrewsbury. It's been a year of steady change as she's grown into being a proper German Shepherd.

Louvre robbery. French police release image of suspect.
2days ago out of nowhere there was a big release between my shoulder blades followed by a day of steady clunking like one of those ancient lever based door locks in Indiana Jones culminating in a tiny but swearyfull ping in my good knee resulting in 2 days of ouch, now suddenly gone. #result !
I'm going to drink alcohol then roll about on the floor.
Not as debauched as it sounds, my back is playing silly buggers and I need to do some time on the physio foam roller from hell so the booze helps to take the edge off and enhance the associated swearing.
Sounds interesting, put in a hold at the library for it, ta.
I liked the books, I remember on the other site when he'd ask all sorts of random questions and then the answers turned up in the books. Easy reading stuff but fun. I'm struggling with the tv version as it seems confused as to what era it's set in. Grantchester has that tv genre nailed.
Momentary brown out of the power but as it comes on it rings the doorbell so Elsie is now on full alert for stranger danger
Back in after taking her Maj round the garden for her ablutions, joining you on the sofa with a strong brew while Elsie goes back to bed for a bit.
Apples picked for cider and for storing ahead of the rain forecast for the next few days. Not our biggest crop and lots of damaged fruit on the trees, but enough to replenish the bar and keep us in puddings until March.
One of the best beers.
The squirrels are burying acorns in all of my post plus the mice are making nests in my big dahlia pots #BloodyWlidlife
My mum would break two matchsticks whenever something broke saying things break in threes.
We're having fish and chips, again, non-British British food.
Plus the myriad of stuff it leaves you open to after it stripes away all your immunity to the general bugs going round allowing them to mutate and become more dangerous. OH has been told to avoid strenuous exercise for 6 weeks post his last bout due to the risk of heart inflammation.
Seconded for Beamish, a ride on the replica of Stephenson's rocket, and on the tram was worth it for us nerds. We had a long chat with the guy in the co-op and the old garage was good, we'd go back.
Well done you 😁
I remember being dragged round the one in Edinburgh in the 70's. Often to get a hat or a costume for a wedding.
I buy pastry, I remember when one of the big TV cooks came out and said don't bother making your own. We have a good supply of apples and rhubarb from the garden so it's a cheap, easy option.
Very impressive, she has quite the skill.
ps, I used vulnerability to covid as a reason not to go a couple of times
Ooooooo, nice. If I didn't already have too many jackets I might be tempted
She has a task, I've thwarted it three years in a row by saying no. I've reached a point in my life where I don't want to sit at a meal in a crowded noisy space with a load of people I don't know when I can be at home. She is too young to be a match for me 😂😂
Sadly, low, the plastic will have degraded in all of them by now.
Nice, would go with a lot of my outfits.
OH's boss's PA - since you've recently had covid can I assume you'll come to the senior managers and partners Christmas meal this year?

Oh sweet child.

Pifco orange, the lemon squeezer, not the cake, which looks very good.
