Generally floundering. Yogi, knitter, walker, sci fi nerd, occasionally sweary, Scottish, retired engineer, frequent user of the block button, rehomed Elsie the German Shepherd. She/her
Pinned
Elsie's second gotcha anniversary. Very different dog from the one we picked up from Dog's Trust Shrewsbury two years ago, having put on 6kg, turned foxy red, learned to bark and hate squirrels, and perfected looking cute.

You want the definition of "dramatic"?

I found it.

OH has been out and directed by me with a long cane, cut off the chunky branches in the apple tree. He's loving his new short DeWalt battery chainsaw for space compromised jobs, and that it's been logged under DST ( doing shit together) so he can retreat to the workshop later.

It’s a humbling thing for any dog owner, when recalling with high exited voice & high value treats shaken in hand

you realise

You are still less interesting than a small patch of grass, which may have been pissed on

I dislike giving negative reviews, but in the summer I replaced my Roamwild squirrel proof feeder of 7 years with a new one. It came with a manufacturing fault, customer service was appalling, two of the plastic bits have broken and the metal perch is so thin it's bent out of shape and not working.

Elsie hoping that if she doesn't make eye contact I'll go out on "my" walk in the rain without her

Rain has stayed off long enough for me to do another bit of apple tree pruning, this time without any personal injury. Starting to get some good shape back into the big old gnarly one and identified one chunky branch for OH to get the chainsaw on at the weekend.

Today is the day! Record your day and be part of recording queer lives and histories in the UK. Sketch, type, write, or photograph your day. Even if you think your day isn't very interesting we'd still love to have it in our collection! All types of days, boring or brilliant are welcome #LGBTplusHM
We're looking to capture experiences of what it means to be queer in the UK today! To do that we're collecting day diaries for 12th February. It doesn't matter what you get up to, or how you record it, we'd love to have it!🧵 (1/4) #LGBTplusHM #lgbthm26
In 1982, inspired by the work of MO the National Lesbian and Gay survey began, it sought to capture what everyday life was like for queer people living in the UK. For our latest open call we're continuing the work of NLGS and asking what does it mean to be queer every day?

Ladies! Save yourself a fortune on lip filler by simply incorrectly calculating the downward trajectory of the branch your cutting out and get yourself thrapped in the face by the whippy bits on the end.

I think it’s easy to feel intimidated when some people write alt-text as an art, which is wonderful but, as someone who sometimes needs it, and family who always need it, I can assure you that even the most basic description is appreciated. Please think of it as anything is better than nothing.

“I’m mad I can’t understand Bad Bunny’s lyrics because they’re not in English”

my brother millions of metalheads around the world have been happily listening to incomprehensible Finnish shrieks and Japanese death grunts since we were teens, you’re just boring and racist

Cooking on the AGA was the first time I felt I was an ok cook and it made cooking relaxing. Since it went I've lost a bit of confidence, but having cracked roasts in the new one and getting bored with safe and easy I decided to get a grip. First bish bash bosh casserole came out OK. Onwards!

The joys of running a wood burning stove to heat and dry the old bit of the house, queen wasps! Elsie heard it first, bundled her out of the room, grabbed the fly swat and tracked it round the room. All back to knitting, pottery throwdown and Elsie snoozing.

The word to describe today's dog walk is deluged. Through my own poor decision making I both picked the wrong time and wore the wrong clothes. Elsie was very unhappy about being out but I clogged us around for 40 minutes and now she's having a major sulk while I smell of wet wool.

If I get mysteriously murdered in my sleep, the culprit is Stella.
Motive? It’s -12° outside with an extreme wind warning, and I made her wear her snood to keep her ears warm and protected.

That right had lozenges of yellow is why I cancelled a walk and cafe plan with my pal. Roll on better weather (please)
Rain warnings have been updated 🌧️

Southwest England and central southern England are now warning free, but yellow warnings for rain continue across parts of Wales, the West Midlands and most of Northern Ireland ⚠️

What do you mean it's wet, the garden is saturated and the wind is thrapping everything about! So what? It's gone 8.30 and 8.30 is door opening o'clock so get off your arse and let's get out there!

The only word appropriate to describe today's dog walk is Baltic. Library books picked up, unsurprisingly no outdoor stalls at the market, only indoor so good bakers absent meaning we had to go to the artisan hand crafted bakery and buy expensive but fabulous sourdough.
