Younger generations feeling fed up with the system will have no avenue or outlet for their desire for economic and social progress. You remove the avenues for change and young people will feel they are no longer beholden to the social contract and their capacity for violence will increase.

I am definitely coming around to the idea that you may have to base your social media company in the EU if you don’t want it to swiftly become a degraded errand-vassal for bigots, assholes, and professional harassment networks.
At a minimum, US hosting for the entire medium is cooked if it's not merely a matter of cowardice, but current legal conditions. Probably gotta be EU-based to hope the GDPR can step up and protect & meditate rationally.
