Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
You can see that the ICE nazi who fired the shots not only didn't duck out of the way of the car as it drove past, he's actually *moving towards it* as he fires.
This is the video.

Boardwalk Empire. The thing that comes back to haunt Nucky in the end is the decision he made to bring Gillian to the Commodore decades earlier. He was doomed before the show ever even began.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

a thing dems should do is claw back that settlement, run ashli babbitt’s redneck family into the sea, and dig up her grave and throw her in the pacific garbage patch
Great news for the family of Brian Sicknick "Zero law enforcement officers lost their lives."

Officer Brian Sicknick collapsed hours after being bearsprayed in the face by right-wing terrorist Julian Khater and died of a stroke the next day.
According to the White House, this is the "true" timeline of January 6th.

These people had all of 2025 to prosecute the "fraud-ridden election" within the statute of limitations and never charged a single person. They know there was no fraud. They know this is a lie.
fuck outta here

The most unrealistic part of My Cousin Vinny is that when the prosecutor realizes Bill and Stan are innocent, he just... dismisses the case. On the spot. No questions asked.
One interesting thing I learned doing this is one reason my cousin Vinny feels unique but you can't put your finger on why is THERE IS NO VILLAIN. It's really weird!
I heard what everyone has been clamoring for is 6,000 words on what a simple question about the 1990s comedy My Cousin Vinny can teach us about the capabilities and surprising weaknesses of current LLMs. Well, I hate to disappoint people, so I went and wrote it. open.substack.com/pub/mikecaul...

Hamnet was ruined by the absolutely inexplicable decision at the climactic performance to have Jessie Buckley act like her character does not know what a play is and has no idea what her husband does for a living.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

María Machado seems like a terrible person but her unforgivable sin in Donald Trump's eyes is just that she is a woman, and therefore cannot be permitted to lead a country.
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

Trump's Justice Department is currently prosecuting far right terrorist Vance Boelter for killing Melissa Hortman, so according to Donald Trump here he is knowingly covering up Hortman's murder.
Donald Trump is now reposting videos on Truth Social suggesting that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had Melissa Hortman assassinated.

This is objectively evil, and calling it out should not be political.

In case you needed any more evidence the U.S. is a rogue terrorist state, the Supreme Court has already held that it is perfectly alright for the U.S. to forcibly abduct someone from their country and then put them on trial here. The DOJ's official manual even sanctions the use of "bounty hunters."

Not seeing many people connect the dots between our new regime change war in Venezuela and the Alien Enemies Act litigation. Trump needs the presence of Venezuelans in the U.S. to be an "invasion" by an enemy nation, so he started a war with that nation.

When Trump assassinated Qasem Soleimani to look tough during an election year, he justified it by lying that four(!) U.S. embassies were imminently about to be attacked by... someone? He believes he can kill or abduct anyone if he just says "blah blah imminent threat."
How does launching air strikes and a commando raid fall under the remit of self defense for an arrest operation

The Mt. Rushmore of movie deaths:

-Sonny (The Godfather)
-Quint (Jaws)
-Boromir (Fellowship)
-Malone (The Untouchables)
Man, that Boromir death scene really hits. Dude knows he fucked up and squeezes every ounce of himself into trying to make up for it, and still he’s besieged by guilt (and redeemed by it, TBH). Wrecks me.

Twelve Monkeys 30th anniversary rewatch. Mostly holds up! One of the best time travel movies ever made and maybe the best Bruce Willis performance. I just wish I liked Terry Gilliam better as a director. Wild that something this dark and niche made $169 million.

MVP was a two horse race between Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (with Jokic comfortably ahead), so with Jokic out for a month, it's SGA's to lose. It's his if he stays healthy.
Just in: Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic has been diagnosed with a hyperextension in his left knee and will miss at least four weeks. An immense sigh of relief as tests show the three-time NBA MVP's knee ligaments are intact.

The standard for vindictive prosecution claims is very high, so it's virtually impossible for the government to lose a motion to dismiss on those grounds, but man oh man the Trump administration is trying as hard as it possibly can.
Newly unsealed docs show DOJ moved to prosecute Kilmar Abrego Garcia for smuggling only after it became clear Trump might not be able to deport him. Sure looks driven by a desire to punish him for fighting back against Trump/Miller lawlessness. Trump had to be right.

I said women tend to vote for left-wing parties more than men because women tend to read more than men, and reading builds empathy, and some dude absolutely lost it. Multiple posts telling me to F off, DMed me, and then blocked me. Proved the point quite nicely.

51% of Republicans believe the 2020 election was stolen, 41% believe the US govt either did 9/11 or knowingly allowed it, and 37% believe the Holocaust was greatly exaggerated or did not happen at all, but canceling a few Kennedy Center performances threatens their "social trust."
The right people are Big Mad about Kennedy Center cancellations which means they're working. And as @cooperlund.online points out, there's a very vibrant arts scene well outside of the Kennedy Center in DC. It's just one venue that caters to a rather specific audience.

A federal court found the mandatory detention provision of the Laken Riley Act unconstitutional in September, and the DOJ chose not to appeal that ruling. They know how illegal all this is.
December 29, 2025 at 4:25 PM
This tweet by Harmeet Dhillon is intended to assuage MAGA that the statute of limitations has not yet run for the coverup of the stealing of the 2020 election, but it intentionally obscures that the statute has run for the alleged stealing of *the election itself,* and they never charged anyone.
This is not how a normal Justice Department talks about an ongoing investigation—or about putative targets and their uncharged conduct.

It Ends is terrific. There's a part of your brain that, when you're driving on a lonely road at night, feels a creeping dread and asks "This is going to end... right?" and this absolutely nails that feeling. Incredible chemistry from all four actors. Maybe the first great Gen Z horror.
