Popped to Brighton for #HolgaWeek Saturday with a bunch of Holgaites. Great fun! Went up the i360. It's very impressive from the outside and within.

Triple distortions from a Holga lens, more from the PAN 120 lens and the super curved glass of the i360 🤪

A grainy, black-and-white, high-angle photograph shows the remains of a pier jutting out into a turbulent sea from a sandy beach. The wooden structure, possibly the remnants of an old pavilion, sits further out, mostly submerged and surrounded by crashing waves. Closer to the shore, two distinct rows of vertical wooden posts stand in the shallows, casting faint reflections on the wet sand. The overall impression is one of decay and the relentless power of the ocean, captured with a blurry, perhaps intentional soft-focus aesthetic.

A very fun (is that the right word?) take on Sword & Sorcery. Involves a bishop’s descent into hell in search of an elusive manuscript.
I personally love any type of medieval horror.

I too love novels that have an academic setting! That’s what drew me to Babel. Interesting, I recently bought a little collection of poetry by Eliot so that’s interesting to know. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is one of my favorites.

I’ve heard mixed things! I liked her books Yellowface & Babel but they were not favorites for me. She always has great ideas though, Katabasis being no exception. I agree, the first page is promising!
