There is no PR battle in the US. White people and their tokens are wrong. They ceded the moral high ground centuries ago.

We literally just say Memphis cops get off with no charges despite being caught on tape beating some to death.

This isn’t a PR fight.

Stop letting bigots tell you it is.

To cis folks who consider themselves sympathetic to the cause of trans liberation:

If you were asked "What makes a trans woman a woman?", or some less-respectful variant of that by a transphobe, would you be able to answer?

Repeating a shibboleth with no substantiation isn't working.

To use the rationalise you invoked in the quoted skeet: The taxonomy of gender is cissexist and we're all familiar with it!

So are those who support trans people actually challenging that taxonomy, or being polite?

The question *is* a trap but not because of the philosophical limitation of taxonomy.

It's a trap because a transphobic person is usually counting on the fact that most cis people have a naturalized idea of biological sex, and knows that they can't justify their position through their own axioms.

The “NUDES IN BIO” accounts have arrived and I encourage everyone to shun the bots in favor of the artisanal, handcrafted porn Bluesky already offers.

Ableism teaches us to abandon each other.

Racism will disable you.
Transphobia will disable you.
Long COVID will disable you.
Genocide will disable you.
Climate change will disable you.

Do not obey when told to abandon the vulnerable.

Resistance & communities must be rooted in disability justice.

Through every bit of political turmoil, throughout history, it's art, media, community that has kept us all sane, connected.
So don't stop creating. It's not silly. It's never silly to boost morale and hope within yourself and onto others.

I've been sketching out a constructed religion / philosophy in the form of #tokipona poetry as a way to process my trauma and reconnect with my desire to make new friends. It isn't really anything yet, but my meditations so far at least have been good for my soul.

This is EXACTLY what I said was gonna happen the first time I laid eyes on those little Boston Dynamics shits. Some of ya'll thought those dancing robots were funny, but I straight up hated them from the beginning. Evil, evil, evil. And just wait until police departments arm them.

Good time to share my old story about the Human Generosity Project. The standard for human society is not only systems of reciprocal altruism but also non-reciprocal acts of generosity as a logical way to manage risk. In Appalachia, they call it "Neighboring" www.sapiens.org/culture/ik-p... 🧪
Is a More Generous Society Possible?
Ik people - Generosity helps societies manage risk and cope with disasters. New research untangles the factors that lead people to help neighbors in need.

Fun #USA fact of the day: We don't vaccinate chickens against Salmonella like the rest of the world which is why we wash the natural waxy coating off them and need to refrigerate them, and why we can't eat raw eggs safely.

even in a more basic level, in general i think it’s Bad for the soul in a non religious sense to take glee in the misfortune of others, even if every home lost belonged to a qanon freak you should be on guard from finding pleasure in their pain, that reaction will become muscle memory
Really shouldn't have to tell people that nobody deserves to get their home destroyed because their state voted the wrong way in a presidential election

We listen to celebrities opinions because we're told to. We value the voices of the rich and famous.

Humble voices speak truth, but we're trained not to hear them unless its repeated on high. Especially if its inconvenient.

Mass protest, only ever extract concessions over a period of years&in combo w/other tactics unless it’s a revolutionary situation(i.e. govt is toppled).Articles like these always strike me as expressions of frustration more than actual power analysis.

Organized opposition to Vietnam began in the mid 1950s and was at its *peak* for 5 years from 1965-1970. Just maybe we should hold our horses on making an assessment of the current anti war movement’s “success” until it’s been more than a year.

Social media and virality isn't the big thing that changed.

Wealth inequality, and the downstream effects of neoliberal defunding of basically all public goods, is the big change.

A few stakeholders now wield so much power that mass protests on-par with decades past are less of a counterweight.
