There’s a search tool to find pharmacies offering it on the NHS website. The first one I went into didn’t offer a private option, but the second one did. Boots also offer it nationwide in many branches, though it’s slightly more expensive. www.nhs.uk/nhs-services...

Adding this mini-thread by @stevensenior.bsky.social in response to mine. It does at least explain the rationale behind why the NHS are not vaccinating more widely. bsky.app/profile/stev...

Bit nerdy, but it's worth having a skim over the number needed to vaccinate figures here. E.g. to avoid one hospitalisation in otherwise healthy people JCVI estimated 60-100k would need to be vaccinated (based on Autumn 2024 data).

The thing about crashing a tank through a museum of antiquities is that you don't have to be a particularly skilled driver to do a lot of damage.

It's difficult at times to hold both "this admin is doing lasting and serious damage to our institutions and the globe" and "this admin is full of the most bafflingly incompetent idiots you've ever seen who fall over themselves like a Vaudeville act constantly."

The duality of man is incredible.

Reminds me of this excellent sign that I saw at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, Georgia.
Piano, which once belonged to Little Richard, with a sign on it saying "Do not attempt to play Little Richard's piano. He will know."

The famous guitar riff for Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine" originated from a "circus melody" warm-up played by guitarist Slash during a 1986 jam session.
While Slash played the riff in a joking manner, bandmate Izzy Stradlin recognized its potential, and the band built the song around it.

Recently, I visited an exhibition by Oleksandr Glyadyelov,
a Ukrainian documentary photographer.

His photo series The Unneeded especially struck me.
I added captions to some of the photos
and want to share them with you.

If I cringe any harder at the Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp's stand-up comedy routine, I may fold in on myself, collapsing into a PSR-J0952–0607-style neutron star of vicarious embarrassment. ~AA

Damn, Jacques Tourneur's Way Of A Gaucho (1952) may be one of the most beautiful three-strip Technicolor films I've ever seen.

Caught the 19:20 from Waterloo, sitting in one of the carriages that until 2021 were detached at Salisbury to run to Bristol while the other six went on to Exeter. Now, the six go as far as Yeovil, and the carriages that ran to Bristol are taken out of use and head for bed.

Home Secretary tells Sky News that “there is a gap in the law” when it comes to frequent, repeated protests on the same issue. Hence she will be giving police greater powers to move them to another location or time.

Having become used to governments dragging the view through the Overton window kicking and screaming to the right, now this newly nationalised rail franchise is content to slowly obscure it behind window dirt.
Somewhat mucky train window, Overton, Hampshire.
