I called my rep. I left a message.

You can also do this.

Remember that Medicare for All is too expensive….but none of the political elites (of either party) will even mention the cost of the impending Venezuela war.

In high school, I was a state legislative page. One of my duties was taking constituent calls. We'd take down the caller's info and then write a one-sentence summary of what they said. Our pads literally didn't have space for more.

You don't have to be eloquent. You just have to be present.
You can find your US reps and senators here: reps.fyi

If you call now, you'll get an answering machine and you can leave a message. A great thing to do if you're nervous about talking to someone. Just give your name, your zip code, and demand they impeach Trump for illegally invading Venezuela.

Calling is a remote version of protesting. Sure, say your message the best that you can, but the real point is making a show of force. Your power comes not from anything you do yourself, but from being part of an immense group with a unified purpose.
You don't have to give a big speech. They're counting numbers - seeing how many constituents care enough to call in. Just tell them to impeach for this illegal war. Also, make sure you only call YOUR reps - they don't care about out-of-district calls.

You can do this. It'll just take a minute. 💪

Long live the public library.

I wish cities would offer more free third spaces. That we often have to purchase something just to sit and exist is so sad.

Yes, parks are my absolute fave for this, but as a winter city, Toronto is rather unwelcoming for free outdoor existing.
Anyway, perhaps you want something else to read after 24 hours of the global goon show.

For folks who are daunted by trying to find or vet groups to work with or contribute to, May I suggest the PTA as training wheels? Many PTAs need volunteers and it’s a good place to stop book bans, find out the material needs of your community, organise food & clothing drives, etc.

Fascism is not coming. It's here.
