I need to know what Mamdani said that made Trump behave for once in his life
Trump on Mamdani: "I think he's gonna surprise some conservative people, actually. And some very liberal people he won't surprise because they already like him."

So it seems all the reviewers hate Wicked For Good, and it may just be nostalgia but I actually really liked it. Like the 2nd half of the stage show it’s kind of a mess where everything happens all at once, but I liked it. I liked the music, romance, anti- fascism, I had a great night!

I’m sure she will be singing her old tune about Jewish space lasers soon enough. No one needs to respect the act she is currently putting on.
Can the next please dear God can the next interviewer ask MTG about oh I don’t know January 6th etc before we keep pretending she found politics Jesus

Well Bari, given that your whole grift in life is to act as a propagandist while claiming to be a journalist I’m sure the point of standards is confusing to you. It is so much easier to just lie all the time.
“Standards will be eliminated or severely cut back. Bari has told people that she wants to get rid of standards and is shocked that they have so much power. She asks ‘What’s the point of standards?’

It’s almost like @derekberes.bsky.social and others have been trying to warn us about this for years now

If true, the most embarrassing thing about the shutdown ending this way is the fact that Schumer has clearly lost control of the party he claims to be the leader of.

Democrats seem to think the pivoting to the center makes them most electable but all it does it piss *everyone* off.

Having beliefs/a backbone and being authentic is the best way to win elections. People are fucking sick of croneyism and corporate suck ups and that is why Zohran cruised to victory

Whenever some sanctimonious Dem announces that America needs a functioning Republican Party, I always think “I’d settle for a functioning Democratic Party.”

What isn’t going to work is betraying what you stand for and the people you are meant to represent.
8 Democratic senators did that today and there needs to be a price to pay for it.
In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

Is there any party that actively tried to lose elections more than the current Democratic Party?
The weirdest thing about these articles is that they all understand that voters want likable politicians with a compelling vision who deliver meaningful benefits. That's not really the case for centrism though!

I don’t know why I ever have hope that the Democratic Party will grow a spine or will meet the moment but I should really stop doing it.

This is pathetic but it isn’t surprising. Schumer’s position from the day Trump got elected has been capitulation.
This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

I saw this headline, read the transcript and it was somehow so much worse than I expected it to be.
The NYT has been going downhill for a long time now but this has to be in the top 5 of most embarrassing things it’s ever published.
I wonder how all the women reporters and editors at the Times feel about this headline.

We should add “a left wing candidate can’t win with a left wing platform” to that list.
basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

Election night went about as well as Dems could have hoped for last night and for me personally it was really nice waking up to good election news for the first time in a while.
Mamdani winning was the cherry on top and if anything proved we don’t need to settle for Newsom in 2028.
Wow it turns out the entire country is not permanently reactionary because Trump won an election by 1.5%

Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.

He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

This is the same rhetoric we’ve been seeing for years.

No, spending 50€ a month on things that I find enjoyable does not make it easier nor hard to pay off my student loans. The student loans are the problem.
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”
