I'm standing for Policy Coordinator. I was diagnosed with post viral fatigue when I was 9 following a virus. I was ill, partially bed bound, over 10yrs. I campaigned for ME/chronic fatigue to be taken seriously. I was against PACE trials & graded exercise. I stand with those affected by long COVID.

This £3 billion bailout for Thames Water is yet another expensive short-term fix.

Special administration was the cheaper long-term option and would have opened the door to democratic, public water ownership, meaning no more debt-ridden, profit-driven failures.

Earlier this week, I attended the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Long Covid, where Long Covid Support presented a report; among the numerous recommendations, it called on the government to provide additional funding to research the effects of Long Covid, which has not been funded since 2021.

Well done to Chris Coghlan MP for Dorking and Horley for these questions. I had not noticed them before. The replies are interesting indeed, given the Gwynne letter where he states categorically that SarsCov2 is not mainly airborne. A shame the answers are so useless and deflective though. #Covid
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of waiting until the publication of the final Module 3 Covid-19 Inquiry report to (a) recognise the role of airborne transmission of SARS-Cov-2 and (b) update (i) Infection Prevention Controls guidance in the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual and (ii) Health Technical Memoranda guidelines to limit airborne transmission of (A) Covid-19 and (B) other respiratory viruses on (1) health workers and (2) patients. 20 January 2025 NHS England maintains efforts to evaluate potential revisions to the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM), which aim to maintain high infection, prevention, and control standards. Any updates will ensure consistent application across healthcare settings. Current guidance balances scientific evidence, operational feasibility, and sustainable infection, prevention, and control practices to protect healthcare workers and patients. Delaying NIPCM updates until the final Module 3 COVID-19 inquiry report risks greater exposure to infection, slower practice improvements, and training gaps. Timely updates, based on emerging evidence, strengthen healthcare worker and patient safety through evidence-based, locally adapted measures. The updated acute respiratory virus guidance, published in March 2024, advises adult social care providers on precautions for preventing respiratory infection transmission, addressing masks, ventilation, and other measures based on current evidence. And each new cohort of nurses will continue to suffer the consequences because these learning-resistant a-holes at the top refuse to mandate masking in healthcare settings and invest in air purification. Masking is a tool of the trade. SARS2 & other viruses are still debilitating people. Mask up!

So I hate to tag the mods- but I sent this email about the mass deletion of Palestinian accounts over a week ago to @support.bsky.team and I haven’t heard anything back (apologies if I somehow missed an email). I’d like to ensure it will be seen by the proper people.

I try to message most of the new accounts from Gaza to try to help them avoid being labeled but it would really help to have some more specific guidelines, because many people I believe are following the guidelines l've been suggesting and still having problems. I understand that you probably cannot tell me specifics but even general information would help me help these accounts act in accordance with Bluesky's rules, which I'm assuming is the goal of both of us. It also may be helpful to publicly post some of this information (preferably in a few languages including Arabic). Specifically I would really like to know: - Information on follower count leading to a spam label (is there a hard number they should avoid- is it overall/ by day?) Also are there any plans to just limit the amount of follows an account can do if a large following amount is something that is triggering a rules violation? -Information on how complaints come in regarding messages and replies and how they are generally assessed (once again I know that you can't give me specifics but it would really help to let them know what is going to happen if someone makes a complaint). Also in the case of replies- is it taken more seriously if the complaint is made by the person who got the notification or can anyone complain about a reply (even if it wasn't made to them) and it will be treated similarly? -Information about how an account is assessed for spam if there isn't a complaint about a specific message or reply (for example if the account is reported as spam-what general things do you look for). Would just posting their own GoFundMe link on their page lead to a spam label or suspension if someone reported them? Do you take into account that sometimes Palestinians are targeted for reports because of their race? -Information regarding the appeals process-many times no one hears anything back after submitting an appeal (and sometimes they don't receive any information on what triggered the ban to begin with). Also in which cases would an account be asked to provide ID documents to stay in good standing? I know that moderation is not an easy job but I think that most of these specific accounts would be willing to follow the Bluesky rules if they knew what they were. I really enjoy Bluesky as a community and I know that making it a welcoming place is a goal we probably both share.
