2ootopiaropolis is less sturdy and fuller of references and cameos (e.g. Bob Iger) but also – while still white cop trash that enforces more stereotypes than it ends – less boneheaded in its allegory than Z1. Fun! Lives up to the promise of a sequel with its story and world extension. Quan is great.

Interweaving the two barely improves Made in USA but truly helps 2 or 3 Things, and is good at showing the duality of a concerned artist; JLG up to his usual BS in the face of political melancholy, versus post-capitalist despair consuming him whole. Linklater is basically cosplaying the masters, but clearly isn’t being serious or reverent with Nouvelle Vague either, which is part of the fun. Safe yet enjoyable irony, that plays up the pompous absurdity of Godard as much as it loves filmmaking as a sincere excuse to hang out.

Had some privileged friends who had fun at Wizarding World in Universal. Without trying to fight, I said I couldn't buy any of HP stuff given what we know about JK now. In memory of Udo Kier, I believe Jan Soldat's Staging Death should be publicly released - to put it in basic terms, it's an experimental documentary that is also a supercut of all the mad, incredible ways Kier has died throughout his entire filmography.
