Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

happy, hopeful ending in a FANTASY story. Yet your own audience proves it could have been done so easily. Anyway, just disappointing that today's fanboy writers are so cynical & don't know how to end story arcs well for their main characters.

PSA to Hollywood writers (specifically JJ Abrams, Chris Terrio, & Duffer Brothers):

When your lonely female heroine gets a chosen family w/ a love interest and then at the very end, you leave her ALONE (or kill her/the love interest), you ruin your entire story. It isn't hopeful. It is traumatic.

I want to believe in foreshadowing!

But who knows, nowadays.

Feels like writers DO foreshadow, then get mad the audience guesses it, & then purposely change it, or a new writer decides to go in another direction.

I no longer trust clear narrative framing, obvious setup tropes, or foreshadowing 💀

ngl when people are talking about "queerbait", sometimes they mention shows that were made in a time when having a gay character would NOT be popular

I feel like queerbaiting is a relatively new phenomenon, and distinct from homophobic censorship or subtle queercoding

Eleven is the reason why so many characters made huge sacrifices for her, whether it's her mom who's stuck being in a coma for the rest of her life, Hopper, Joyce, her friends. She did the same for them and even went above and beyond. And then the ending is like "SIKE SHE'S GONE" [27]

4. OF COURSE IT'S ABOUT ELEVEN. WHO ELSE. We're not in like, the apocalyptic levels of rage I was at the end of Voltron: Legendary Defender, when they did THAT to Allura, but we're close. And it made it clear as day to me that the Duffer bros see Eleven as a plot device more than a character. [22]

This is why I love Rian Johnson: at least his stuff bucks the nihilist trend and is like “caring about things is actually kind of important and the whole point of existing, and fuck the people who say otherwise.” Taking that energy into 2026. Happy new year.

Manny Jacinto: "I feel like with a lot of the franchises that we currently have, it’s missing the romance. It’s missing a lot of love and relationships. We have the big fight scenes and the origin stories of these heroes and whatnot, but they don’t really have a relationship with other people."

“I feel like with a lot of the franchises that we currently have, it’s missing the romance... and that’s why I loved the Qimir and Osha relationship... I think that’s what made the characters and the story more compelling as opposed to just having big fight sequences, which I loved.” - Manny Jacinto
I interviewed Manny Jacinto today and asked for his response to #TheHuntForBenSolo talks, considering the Qimir & Kylo Ren connection that #TheAcolyte creator recently revealed. Lots of Oshamir talk here as well about why #StarWars needs romance

This, and also,

Aromantic ≠ doesn't want romance
Aromantic in fact = experience little/no romantic ATTRACTION

You can be aro and desire relationships. You can be aro and desire intimacy. You can also be aro and desire neither.
PSA, because some how folk still don't understand:

Asexual ≠ doesn't want sex.
Asexual in fact = experiences little/no sexual ATTRACTION

You can be ace and desire relationships. You can be ace and desire intimacy. You can also be ace and desire neither

That is all
