It should be bigger news that masked agents were filmed hours ago removing potentially inculpatory evidence from the ICE shooter's house, clearly lacking evidence tags or chain of custody stickers.

Before we have word on whether he underwent a toxicology screen at the hospital following the killing

bari weiss saw this and decided that she had to hide it from the american public
Guards began beating him. Beat him until he bled. Knocked his face into the wall, broke all his teeth. No access to outdoors, no contact with relatives.

there is one and only one political strategy, and that is: “hang trump like an anchor around the neck of every single elected republican and the party itself.” no ‘friends across the aisle.’ no ‘the fever will break.’ anyone not on board with that has to go. no exceptions

I had missed the SCOTUSblog post about the “interim docket blog”; wanted to scream but it’s late; texted @jaywillis.net instead; & he let me know that, oh, yes, this has been discussed.

I truly don’t understand how you just accede to Kavanaugh’s self-serving make-believe name for the shadow docket.
Even for me, this is pretty in the weeds, but the shift in tone in SCOTUSblog's coverage since Sarah Isgur and The Dispatch took over—more deferential to the Court, more reverential of the justices as celebrities, more credulous and stenographic across the board—has been...notable
Maybe this new blog can respond, in one of its first posts, to the argument that the term “interim docket” is a deliberately misleading attempt to minimize the (very permanent) doctrinal and real-world consequences of #SCOTUS’s rulings on emergency applications?

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.

Announcing this not just on a Friday, but on the most holiday weekend of all Fridays, def shows how proud Northwestern’s admins must feel for caving in to bad faith attacks like this.

And, in the process, leaving all universities that still have a spine in more vulnerable positions than before.

Gianni Infantino has a dictator fetish. It’s grotesque.
Fifa agrees World Cup matches can be moved at Trump’s request

Our system actually has all sorts of ways to address the current crises that don’t require impossible things like Constitutional amendments.

They require some work, some attention, sometimes a little outside-the-institutionalist-box thinking.

But they are there.

And we need to start making a list
There's much that might be done with a disciplinary power like this. Imagine "rubber-rooming" corrupt or partisan judges like Cannon, Kacsmaryk, or Bove by forever assigning them a minimum caseload or even simple administrative duties such that they cannot abuse judicial power again.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

sometimes people are reticent to call their representatives because they don’t know what to say, and having a script can help. here’s a few you might consider:

1. “eat shit and die”
2. “fuck you i hate, i hope you die”
3. “die in a fire”
4. “[x] yourself”

hope this helps! call your senators :)
