Turns out the schedule got worse - it’ll only turn back on at 5:30 for about three hours, then gone again. Very motivating.

The 2nd edition of the Blood Moon Tarot is finally here! This weekend will be the 10 year anniversary of beginning this project, when I started the first painting for the deck. I was very much in the space of The Fool as I began a new adventure.

A sorceress astounded by her creation.

This painting has been floating around in my head for months now, and I only found the right time to bring it to fruition yesterday!

A sorceress astounded by her freshly sculpted homunculus. A single shaft of light illuminates her creation. Bounce lighting reflects upon the sorceress. The homunculus has a flaccid butt. The maker's hands are covered in fresh clay. They are the only body parts of the sorceress that are directly lit. Faint, residual purple smoke wisps from her fingertips: the homunculus stands in an awkward pose, that of a creature freshly adjusting to its body. The homunculus has thin limbs and a hefty torso, though it is faced against the viewer. The sorceress's workshop is littered in sculpting tools, brushes, an open tome of transmutation, ceramic bowls and a pitcher of dirty clay water in which lie a few of these tools. Clay shavings are scattered about the floor. A red, runic circle surrounds the humonculus. In the dark background it is possible to catch a few failed prototypes on a shelf.

Here is my stance. I cannot see a way for myself to review or cover boycotted games while maintaining my conviction with the movement for Palestinian liberation. However, liberation won’t be found in the strict adherence to bulleted criteria. It will be found in support of justice. On the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955–1956, Martin Luther King Jr. wrote, “Our concern would not be to put the bus company out of business, but to put justice in business.” King continued, “I came to see that what we were really doing was withdrawing our cooperation from an evil system, rather than merely withdrawing our support from the bus company. The bus company, being an external expression of the system, would naturally suffer, but the basic aim was to refuse to cooperate with evil.” We must withdraw our support from the evil system, not merely withdraw our support from Microsoft. As Marina Kittaka wrote in 2020, we must divest from the video games industry. We must refuse to cooperate with evil.
