Very true. Dems string together two victories and call it a strategy. We can’t keep holding our noses at the thought of using political levers to both make meaningful change and win elections.
A lot more needs to happen, but the place that Democrats have to start if we’re going to survive as a country is to actually engage in politics. They’ve been trying to avoid politics for my entire lifetime, and as long as that continues we are doomed.

One immigrant shot National Guard members and MAGAs want all immigrants gone. Dozens if not hundreds of schoolchildren are shot by white people every year but you don't hear them wanting to kick out white people. And you sure as hell don't hear them wanting to do anything about all the guns.

Apparently the contents of this post were sufficient to get me added to an “Anti AI” block list. Wow. People will create block lists for anything these days.
My company is really pushing use of AI to “punch up” our content and I keep making this point… even if it’s not images the writing just turns people off. Plus it’s just linguistic pudding.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

The thing about "left on the economy, right on culture" is it's based on analysis of swing voters. Those voters are often low attention and their politics are often not especially coherent. Which is fine for them, it's not their job to run the country, but, you know, the government is

I’m sort of sad MTG is leaving. Don’t get me wrong, she’s awful on her best day. But she’ll sow less MAGA chaos as a private citizen. And her district will elect someone *just as awful* so it’s not like she’s going to get replaced by some moderate.
