Giving Tuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for the purposes of hashtag activism, is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States.

It is touted as a "global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world".

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Somebody just walked into our front room and said looking round.

'Bluemoose Bookshop?'

'No.'

'Oh, I thought you were a bookshop.'

'No, we're a publisher.'

She looked at the TV and our confused dog.

'Not a bookshop then.'

And left our middle terraced house.

Rachel Reeves says on Laura Kuenssberg that she's asking working people to pay a little bit more.

This was all under the cover of a made up "black hole" whilst refusing to tax the super rich.

This Labour Government showing again exactly who they are and who they serve.

This Labour government should have scrapped the two-child benefit cap on day one.

Instead, it chose to keep hundreds of thousands of children in avoidable, grinding poverty for a year-and-a-half.

I’m proud to have lost the Labour whip and left the party that has overseen this performative cruelty.

Often anxiety and depression are seen as a personal failure or a sign of spiritual immaturity. Nichiren teacher Mark Herrick seeks to reframe these afflictions as evidence of interdependence: we are intimately and inevitably affected by the world’s suffering.

The Bodhisattva’s Illness and the World’s Cure
A Nichiren teacher invokes the Vimalakirti Sutra in a reflection on using one’s suffering as a means of liberation.

The news that Belgian football feared: as happened in France, DAZN is pulling out of its broadcasting deal with the ProLeague with immediate effect. Should no solution be found (which appears the likeliest scenario), the league's 16th round will not be broadcast in Belgium.

Watched the latest Superman. I liked it, didn’t love it.

Enjoyed it more than the Zack Synder ones.

But my fav, is still the first one with Christopher Reeve.

Probably because I was a kid and the sense of magic seeing the character come to real life.
