in which we conclude our look at Rob Liefeld’s earliest Image work with a glance at a unique artifact of a strange time: an autograph book for a cohort of young artists at the zenith of their success, signifying a moment in the medium’s history unlike any other
Review excerpt - I fear the appeal of Extreme - and especially the work of its progenitor - is opaque to later generations, who see only the comical artistic excess, or the subsequent business failures, without proper context for why or how this material could have been so popular in the first place. That it was huge, you can see for yourself: they printed an autograph book for the first generation of Extreme Studios talent to sign at comic cons. You can certainly argue their time might have been better spent making more comics than doing more shows - but these guys were in genuine demand. They were mobbed in public at these conventions, I know because I saw it happen myself. They hired a guy to dress up like Chapel and pose for photos with fans, and that Chapel actor even has a page in this autograph book. Extreme Studios Tour ‘93.

K-Pop Demon Hunters is legitimately the global cultural phenomenon of 2025 and honestly there are far worse things to be a cultural touchstone this year than a trio of young women fighting literal soul-sucking hegemony through the power of their art

According to the City of Paris, in the last 10 years 150K trees have been planted & 45ha of parks created in the already hot city, all intended to not only improve quality-of-life today, but also help the city adapt to & manage summer heatwaves of 50℃ (122F) by 2050.

Just the start.

Common sense.

It can also definitely work if you had him go into academia. Tons of people (even with doctorates) take a long time (if ever) to get a tenure-track position and end up cobbling together multiple adjunct jobs for years to try to stay afloat.

Time travel to the 90s, and return to street racing.
Set up the first movie and make the whole thing a loop

Time travel is bigger than anything they've done before and street racing is way cheaper than what they've been doing.

Universal execs are not sure they’ll make the final ‘FAST & FURIOUS’ movie unless there’s about $50M in budget cuts.

Despite what Vin Diesel has claimed, there’s no approved script, no release date & most of the cast don’t have deals to return

After working on my webcomic Witch-Slayer with my co-creator @rosegarou.bsky.social for over a year now, I can confirm that all of the advice @jimzub.bsky.social has listed on his comic script critique is one hundred percent correct and will aid you in writing comics, especially point number one!

This is embarrassing and the same shit we spent our entire teens and twenties putting up with from people older and wealthier than us.

Why the hell would any millennial want to become the assholes who came before us?

Be better than this.

I reiterate: every single person, regardless of the year they were born, has to make a conscious effort not to shit on the following generations the moment they realize they themselves are approaching middle age or older. It’s not just boomers and X that are susceptible.

I currently have work on display at La Maison de la Littérature and in four libraries (bibliothèques Gabrielle-Roy, Paul-Aimé-Paiement et Monique-Corriveau) in Quebec City. Thanks to @editions_alto for sorting this all out.
A poster drawn by Tom Gauld. A cabinet which looks like a six panel comic. It contains a variety of things: a castle, a drawing machine, a gallery, a sphere containing a princess and a robot, an insect, an artist, a cat, etc. A speech bubble emanating from the machine reads 'Tom a Quebec' A sketchbook page filled with text and doodles in black ink.

🎳 Taken in 1957, these #NYTMCollection photos show a fascinating peek into the penny arcade culture of the time. These are survey images for a platform extension project on the 50 Street station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line, but they also capture an exciting slice of life above ground.
