The BrikWars guy. Former Lego guy.
Concept designer and illustrator behind many of your favorite Lego themes and games, and somehow also the old Roblox logo. I know, I can't explain it either.

Hi! I guess I need some kind of intro here. I'm a designer with a long history at LEGO and a bunch of digressions into tabletop and video games. I also made the original Roblox logo and BrikWars. Currently freelancing in illustration and whatever odd jobs strike my fancy.

There is almost no feedback I'll automatically ignore as a game designer - sometimes to the teeth-gnashing anguish of the rest of the Discord channel - but there's a whole bunch that inspires me to gleefully double down
there is almost no feedback I will reflexively ignore as a game developer but “you shouldn’t name something X because people don’t know that word” is one of them. oh no! You might learn a new word! God forbid you take away a piece of knowledge from a game that’s not a brand of gun or some shit lol

It's cool how we keep proving over and over and over again that there's a significant market for narrative-heavy, character-driven, single-player experiences in video games and publishers just categorically refuse to believe us

Note the subtle gradations between "cannon broadsided to smithereens (bad, disaster)" and "cannon broadsided to smithereens (awesome, on fire)"
before asking "how's that project going??" to any creative, just assume it's going like this

I feel like I've been hearing nothing but GTA6 GTA6 GTA6 in the gaming press for the last year, but IRL it's been crickets.

I don't know a single person who's excited to buy or play another rehash of this. Am I out of the loop? Or is this a product that everyone just thinks everyone else wants?

The reason why most women my age couldn't care less if Bill Clinton goes down with the ship is that we were teens & young women when the Anita Hill and Monica Lewinsky scandals happened. It's rotten to the core. All the way down. Your "lost" era is not ours.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

Scrubbing toilets, cutting down trees, digging trenches, replacing drywall. Can't help but think I spend an awfully large chunk of my waking hours on manual labor every day for someone who's nominally a white collar desk worker

Woman is "queen," strong value statement

Girl is "piggy," now hold on a minute

A few weeks ago I was in Denmark dining on Michelin star meals and running into Tom Cruise and hobnobbing with elite LEGO designers and now I'm back in regular life and we've been so busy that the deep weirdness of that transition back and forth didn't hit me until just now

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

I think there's room for nuance here. I spent decades at odds with a whole population of friends because their favorite author threw up every red flag for me. Reading his work felt like getting stuck in the head of a casually abusive sociopath.
Here's a thing that I despise: When someone is outed as an abuser, TERF, terrible human, and ppl start going "I never liked them anyway" "I never found them funny" "They never wrote good things to begin with" and seriously shut the hell up. All of that is just to position you are superior and (cont)
