Just a few things to make sure anyone following me here knows what I’m about:

Trans rights are human rights.

Climate change is extremely real.

Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza.

Nationalism in all its forms is inherently violent.

So is the modern form of policing.

Trump is a fascist.

Want to know the real politics of a self-described libertarian? Ask them their opinion on trans people. If they don’t come up with “self-determination trumps all” then they’re hypocrites and liars.

She is the COO en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_o... of bsky. This is worrying because after the 'we are turning waffles into an anti-trans thing' by the CEO the CEO started to follow a transphobe. Shows a pattern.

Wonder when we find out one of them follows the discovery institute.

I seriously dont know how to make this clear without coming off as this lol😭

These people, this group, are behind all this

And they are already influencing uk the way they have usa

This is stuff we cant keep ignoring

Trying to explain project 2025 and how its affecting the uk, to 'normies', without sounding like a conspiracy theorist challenge

The optics of it are shit, in multiple ways.

Ways that would have been spotted had Bluesky not left the position of comms director open for the last 2 years, if they had someone whose job was to go "no, bad, this makes you look bad, stop that. It looks bad."

A person in charge, following, on their work account, a random sub-100 following bigot, hits very different than some random user.

And again, that random sub-100 following bigot is literally invisible, not even searchable, if you use basically any community-developed moderation tools available.

This, *after* the shitstorm of completely unprofessional shit other bluesky team members did the last week.

It's not at all the same as a random person on a personal account, the normal kind of follow policing you'd see. Work account. Work account during a very visible goddamn comms crisis.

Seeing some people criticizing being concerned about this as follow policing, but this is Rose's work account. Her professional account, used for work. The official conduct of Bluesky leadership.

Following a 90-follower account that basically any community modlist would hide for you. Optics!

Like, you have to be using zero community moderation tools, for their account to even be visible to you.

Like, did *you* know that Heritage Foundation was here? Probably not, if you use pretty much any community moderation tools.

Note: if you use basically *any* community modlist, you won't even see their account. Very British Bigotry, Asuka, etc already block em for you.

You have to purposely expose yourself to all the worst fucking people around, for you to *even be able to see it*

A lot of discourse around the *why* of transness really does come down to “so what?” Born this way? A choice? Arousal? Dysphoria? A simple desire to just say “fuck you” to the norms? None of it matters, all of it is valid. No one is being harmed by self-determination, no matter the reason.

IMO the most egregious thing about AGP theory is how deeply FAKE the whole panic is based on the evidence.

If gendered self-arousal as a trait exists, SO WHAT? There’s no evidence linking it to any kind of bad behavior—the connection is entirely engineered by conjecture and transmisogyny!
aliceinwunderl3.bsky.social
I also just do not think that being aroused by the idea of a being a woman is a murderous arousal and the only reason for that connection is a patriarchal obsession with elevating manhood, as the fuckor and never the fuckee, as the greatest state any human can achieve.

A distributed social media network that makes you jump between servers to opt out of the admin’s poor moderation decisions simply isn’t sustainable. Note that Mastodon also has this problem. We need a system that prioritizes opt-in community moderation.

Moderation is *the* social media problem, and the fact that it’s largely considered an afterthought is why we are where we are.
mikeriverso.bsky.social
I don’t know what the actual solution is, but what I do know is that Bluesky should be working on empowering its users with useful moderation tools, instead of making moderation decisions on their personal whims.
mikeriverso.bsky.social
And note that a lot of the way Bluesky works *is* opt-in community moderation. Blocklists, primarily. What we need is a solution for the large scale bad actors, and while blocklists help, they’re a bit of a kludge.

The universe fell apart when David Bowie died in 2016. Can’t imagine what Dolly Parton’s continued presence is holding together.

Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, is asking for people to pray for her sister’s health.
Verified Facebook post by Freida Parton. The caption reads:

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you! ❤️”

Below the caption is a photo of Dolly Parton standing outdoors in front of lush green ivy, hands clasped in prayer, wearing a shiny silver outfit with lace-trimmed sleeves, her signature blonde hair styled in soft curls, looking upward serenely.
