i don't think it's really a problem of are brawny ebikes good or bad. it's a problem of urban police forces being clueless suv-borne punks. we should take bike path enforcement away from the nypd for the same reasons we should take parking enforcement away

This is not an unpopular urbanist opinion. Basically everybody thinks that Class III e-bikes are a menace. If you wanted to be unpopular on here, you would have to argue that actually they are good. I hear very few people making that case, although I think there is probably a case to be made.

My unpopular urbanist opinion is that big, hyperfast two-wheelers are a menace and should be banned from bike lanes/paths (with enforcement).

These things endanger everyone riding a bike or legal e-bike. Worse, they deter some from even trying.

like i blame bam 100% but the city could just force it or figure something else out, this stalemate seems intentional and like a pointlessly dangerous interim until mayor mamdani steps in

one thing about crashland is the dot could just axe the southbound lane and make hansan place match and then the idiots at bam could keep their stupid loading zone

that said: I think the "it's not fascism unless they're good at it" brand of analysis probably isn't the move

History didn't start two years ago tomorrow.
128 Years since 1st Zionist Congress
108 Years since Balfour Declaration
77 Years since Israel created (continuing Nakba)
18 Years since Israel started Gaza Seige

From the river to the sea, Palestine MUST BE FREED!

If you like this change to the street, please let Brooklyn CB6 know by emailing [email protected]

I'm on the board and we're already getting some cranky emails. The folks who are using this and benefit from it don't know they have to stand up for good things, so help us stand up for good things.

Fulop's going to head up the Partnership for New York City? They couldn't find a single one out of the 8 million people who actually live in NYC to replace Kathy Wylde?

The decline is occurring as the Trump administration has delayed visa processing, instituted travel bans or restrictions for 19 countries, threatened to deport international students for pro-Palestinian speech, and heightened the vetting of student visa applicants.

Recorded a 50 minute timelapse of the new Flatbush Ave center running bus lanes this first rush hour, as DOT crews are still installing signage and stuff.

So far, it works! Drivers generally obey it and buses are clearly sped up. And don’t miss that ambulance bypassing traffic at the 6 second mark!

the cool thing about a zoom psychiatrist appointment at 11am is spending 8:30-11 making your apartment cute, getting in the headspace, glancing at work and fretting about all the timing, and then having a simple chat for 10 minutes

I don’t want to talk about this because I don’t want to be a target

But on just a human decency level the person tirelessly deleting Gazans just permabanned the guy who uses his thousands strong platform to boost the fundraisers of literally anyone who needs money or mutual aid every single Friday

It’s a ‘DOT-said’ ‘she-said’ on the Upper West Side, where nobody seems to have a clear idea of how many parking spaces will be sacrificed for pedestrian safety — yet that seemed to be the deciding factor for Council Member Brewer yanking her support.

The Upper West Side pol's inconsistent safety record is getting a second look from activists who once supported her.
