Dave Ball's three-way fusion of Kraftwerk, Northern Soul and John Barry was inspired, a perfect backdrop for Marc Almond's emotionalism. And he did so much more besides Soft Cell (eg The Grid and as a producer). To meet Dave and work with him was a privilege. Love to Marc, and to Dave's family. RIP.
