I find it really interesting that US autism politics has turned into "it's a terrible epidemic and must be eradicated" at the same time as UK (etc) autism politics has turned into "it's mostly overdiagnosed and must be doubted"

Of course the end result is the same: no need to figure out support 🙃

Of everything I've read for the new job this is the big thing that's stuck with me. I can't get over how ridiculous it is (and of course it's a similar situation for notional SEND budgets in mainstream schools)

Did you know that per-pupil state special school funding hasn't changed since *2013*? Almost all the inflation in my adult life, not covered!

So yeah, of *course* councils have to spend more on top-up funding, and transport because there's no places locally, which families are then demonised for 🙃

That three major British newspapers jumped on the poorly sourced (ATF to Steven Crowder to WSJ) line about the bullets having ‘trans’ symbols (actually a, wait for it, Helldivers 2 code) is such a tell on what they really care about. They really need to apologise (they won’t)
