Wow, the aurora borealis is currently *very* visible in Colorado. Photo from right now, in the #Denver area. Check it out ASAP!
You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

--

After some mildly concerning antics and at least one song, I should be rescued by the time the credits roll.

😂 My version control before learning about version control:

ode_solver_v2.m
ode_solver_v2_final.m
ode_solver_v2_final_2.m
ode_solver_v2_final_actually.m

ode_solver_v2_final_actually_v3.m

Too many in the replies are implying (jokingly?? ) that they don’t know either.

Y’all. Y’all. You’re freaking me out. We had version control before git. Many different ones. They had different drawbacks, some were painful to use, but we were professionals before git.

I’m hoping people are joking.

from now on I'm just going to truncate the taylor series for sin at the first term. sin(x) = 0 for all x. this approximation

- is efficient to compute
- has bounded error
- has excellent analytic properties
- has very high accuracy for small values, which occur frequently in applications

Hi. It's me. 2 weeks later. This is done. 58 frames over 3 seconds, *50* layers in the final image. WOO. This was a long edit, felt like ACTUAL work so unless I get it again with the actual sunset I doubt I'll be editing more like this. Psyched for the final piece tho! 🪶

Another math-y stained glass art. How? Place random points and create Voronoi diagram and give each polygon the average color of the underlying pixels.

Oft remarked that two wrongs don't make a right, but never seen anytime establish in general that if you've done n wrongs then n+1 won't fix it. Keep going, dig deeper, there's still hope.

A nifty ending from one of my recent games on @lichess.org - This is both a “pure mate” in the technical sense (king prevented from moving to each adjacent square for exactly one reason), AND also the first time that I’ve ever delivered checkmate by moving one of my knights to the furthest rank.

I literally stopped in my tracks when I saw this cloud iridescence while out on a walk. It didn't look like something that could be real and physical, more like a rendering glitch. Remember degaussing a CRT monitor?
