any of the Tim Duncan headlines, but especially "Tim Duncan Announces Shoe Deal With Florsheim"
What is the quintessential Onion headline? The strong contender that just randomly popped in my mind is "Hank Williams Jr. Honored by Institute For Football Preparedness"

lol I didn’t even realize mcgreevey was running for office. What was the pitch? “People are ok with the gay thing now, and the corruption was comparatively quaint”
RESULT: James Solomon will be the next mayor of Jersey City.

Solomon, running on a more progressive lane with WFP support, has easily defeated the establishment candidate Jim McGreevey, the former governor who resigned in scandal two decades ago.

If the person already knows how to cook, vintage cookbooks are great. My copy of The L.L. Bean Book of New England Cookery from the 60s is one of my prized possessions. Very few other cookbooks will emphasize the papist nature of too much garlic
