You can't mass murder a single individual's career, but if we're going to enter that register then I think it's fair to say that American Canto has triggered a wide-ranging pogrom against the English language.
“The attempted patriarchal mass murder of this woman’s career” is an interesting way to describe a bunch of underpaid/out-of-work, mostly women journalists expressing disgust with the unprofessional behavior of every person in the whole awful affair, who have been and continue to be rewarded for it
