Bergen Reilly wins the Big Ten Player of the Year award. She helped the Huskers hit .352, which is on track to be a school record.

Reilly is the first setter since 2018 to win it and the first Nebraska player since OH Kelsey Robinson in 2013.

So ESPN, in the year of our lord 2025, STILL doesn't understand what they have in NCAA women's volleyball and puts the *1st and 2nd rounds of the TOURNAMENT* on its app (while it airs what--4 year old 30 for 30s--on its main networks?)? People should lose their jobs for dumb decision like this.
Nebraska will play Long Island Friday at 7 p.m. at John Cook Arena.

San Diego (25-4) and Kansas State (17-9) will kick off the day at 4:30 p.m.

The winners will meet in the second round on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.

All the matches will be steamed on ESPN+

BRB, performing the upper midwestern ritual of attempting to ward off heavy snow by getting gas for the snowblower and starting it up for the first time “just in case.” It’s like when kids do their homework ‘cause if they don’t they’ll jinx the snow day.

This kind of thing is exactly what the internet is for. (Also for anyone not living near the Great Lakes, understand that many here have been building to this day all fall. I would not be surprised if >1 radio stations are just playing the song on constant repeat today.)
For the midnight crew on this #EdmundFitzgwtald50 anniversary, I have added more markups to the Newsweek article that gave Gordon Lightfoot his template for His "Wreck of" song lyrics.

Here’s the thing: when your upcoming exhibition is called “Dancing WITH Life,” and you start googling for more info, but it’s right before the release of Wicked, you get a lot of results for “Dancing THROUGH life.” And also an ear worm. #museumlife

Today in #museumlife: failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part. And no, we don’t have anyone on our severely limited staff at our tiny museum in a small Wisconsin city who can lead your tour in Portuguese.

Yesterday in #museumlife I had to facilitate a college class in our education space--basically just make sure the students leading the class had what they needed. I sat in the back organizing some supplies and gave myself a blister sharpening colored pencils. Should I file for work comp? ;D

Re: last repost: I went to Purdue for 3 yrs to get my masters. I don’t really think of myself as an alumnus (undergrad & grad experiences aren’t the same). I rarely find myself feeling nostalgic for the campus or proud of it. But today I’m grateful for the students and faculty who made this happen.

OPUS DEI IS THE SCIENTOLOGY OF CATHOLICISM THEY ARE THE ONLY THING "THE DA VINCI CODE" GOT RIGHT THEY ARE AWFUL AND THEY ARE EVIL AND THEY HAVE ENORMOUS POWER AND THEY ARE INTEGRAL TO TRADFASH CATHOLICISM
BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV is set to effectively disband Opus Dei in the coming weeks.

This would be the most sweeping internal reform of his pontificate — and a dramatic continuation of Pope Francis’s legacy.
NEW: Pope Leo Set To Break Up Opus Dei
If Pope Leo does indeed approves a plan that effectively dissolves Opus Dei’s structure, it would be the most significant internal action of his short pontificate to date.

Niecephew day—spent the morning at a soda museum and saw some unexpected (and unexplained) characters. Now we’re geocaching for J before I run M to her audition for Newsies. Then we’ll go home and make fall snacks. Pretty awesome. #aunting #museumlife

RIP actor & Chicago native Ron Dean.

He interrogated Dr. Richard Kimble in THE FUGITIVE, he dropped Andy off at detention in THE BREAKFAST CLUB, he was shot by Harvey Dent in THE DARK KNIGHT, he was Marty Crane's poker buddy on FRASIER, and so much more.

My nephew took this photo of his sister at our nighttime exhibition as part of his assignment for the high school(!) newspaper. He submitted other photos for the article because he was told not to have people's faces without permission and he is a rule-follower, but this one is my fav. #museumlife

Today the weather shifted from almost 90F to the 60s w/rain & wind. After an exhausting last week, I decided to work from home for a couple hours, put on a long sleeved tee and a bulky cardigan, opened the windows, made coffee & scones, & lit a cinnamon scented candle. 15/10 would recommend.

The ESPN college volleyball commentators are getting better but somebody please, for the love of Jordan Larson, get them to stop comparing the last 5 points of a set to the "red zone in football." That is not at all how this works.
