If things keep moving in this direction, 2026 could be an extinction-level event for congressional R’s

Pretty sure a D+16 election would result in something like a 374-59 D majority lol

Generic congressional ballot 2026
🟦Democratic 54.4%
🟥Republican 38.4%

FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you

LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times

F: Not a 600% cut

L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now

My favorite social app is still MyChart. Love messaging with my care team and seeing raw test results before they’ve been explained to me.

"ICE and CBP must be abolished" is the only reasonable position. We can debate the specifics of new agencies for immigration functions, but these agencies are simply too infected with a culture of impunity, racism, and fascism to continue. They're gangs with badges.
Armed ICE agents trapped US citizens in a restaurant and demanded their papers. Federal agents walked into East African restaurants in Cedar-Riverside, MN. They closed and blocked the doors. Then they demanded to see everyone’s papers. Every person present was a US citizen.

I have a huge sweet tooth but I’ve always found the mere sight of these “cookies” nauseating.
The author of this sent a delivery of Crumbl cookies to the office yesterday, and I had 1/6 of the most benign-looking one and got so overstimulated that my nose immediately stuffed up. Gift link! www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

I have no interest in defending Bill Clinton and I think Monica Lewinsky got mistreated horribly, but the problem was never that people “didn’t believe” her.

people are desperate for anti-AI leadership from any public official or any big company. it’s the easiest win in the world, why is no one willing to just grab it??
BREAKING: NY Gov. Kathy Hochul gutted an AI regulation bill awaiting her signature and replaced it wholesale with a weaker version sought by Big Tech firms. At least two of the groups lobbying on the bill held fundraisers for Hochul in recent weeks.

Seriously, Netflix can foster a lot of goodwill by reviving a number of projects Zaslav nixed
Look, it’s very simple:

If Netflix decides to release part 2 of The Nevers, then the Warner Bros/Discovery acquisition is good.

If it doesn’t, then the acquisition is bad.

it's not the most important issue right now but I would *really* like to see Democrats who want to be president announcing in no uncertain terms that anything this goober manages to carve his name on, it comes off. anything he builds, it gets torn down.

What will he have to say about the situation when companies “hiring whomever they want” when most of them end up only hiring single, childless people because they can pay them less and demand longer hours?
I am sorry for bringing this imbecile's ravings to your attention but I just think this is perfect. Rufo has no idea that private companies take their goods to market on roads and waterways and airports maintained by taxes. it has never occurred to him that the united states prints money

I do not know exactly what this passage is supposed to mean but “mumblecore Shakespeare” and “conceived for the TikTok generation” feel like ideas in tension with each other
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

The new film “Hamnet” offers up a vision of William Shakespeare as “Marlon Brando in Elizabethan drag,” writes Drew Lichtenberg. While this character may appeal to some, it “played to me like mumblecore Shakespeare, conceived for the TikTok generation.”
Opinion | ‘Hamnet’ Reimagines Shakespeare for the TikTok Generation
Our love of his plays have led to a centuries-long fascination with the writer. So why does each new fictional iteration get his life so wrong?

chocolate twizzlers is good though
Reese’s does a good job with the product line where even if they aren’t as good as the Classic they still have a place, Twizzlers is smarter though because they made a mid candy and then came up with a dozen variations that taste like complete shit and make the original seem incredible by comparison

An additional wrinkle is the further you push a gerrymander, the more you necessarily push down your margins in your own safe districts, and if you’re on the wrong end of a particularly large backlash, you’re likely to end up losing more seats than you would’ve if you’d left the districts alone…

To be blunt, most people's lesson from "listen to marginalized voices" was "find the first person who claims to be marginalized and agrees with my priors and use it as a permission structure to call the ones who disagree with me uncle toms"
I genuinely do not think it is possible for non marginalized people to uplift marginalized voices at least through something as crude as social media shares. I Basically never see someone share a marginalized perspective they disagree with, so then all you are doing is amplifying your own view.
But people like MRO are doing the whole "Listen 👏 to 👏 Palestinians" and presenting their most deranged poasters, kinda like the weird Hasbarah accounts who do the same thing with Jews, and the Jewish Voice you should Listen to ends up being Meir freaking Kahane ימ"ש
