The Minister for Homelessness is a landlord - and she just evicted her tenants, tried to charge them >£2,000 in illegal fees, then re-listed the property weeks later for £700 more.

The same Minister who claims to fight for renters’ rights.

You couldn’t make it up.

It's amazing what evidence based policy can do.

The evidence that the 20mph limit is working fantastic from the point of view of saving lives and saving the taxpayer money in Wales is overwhelming.

You can be annoyed about it.

But you can't argue that it isn't doing what it was supposed to do.

I kinda think the way people use ChatGPT is sort of aspirational because it seems to emulate the way rich people have sycophants lying to them all the time until they lose touch with reality and also their entire minds

"I've never met a person in their 70s with autism" is a quote from someone who has never bothered to step foot into a ham radio club meeting, a gathering of railfans, or a local Linux users group.

It has been pointed out to me that the Japanese Ambassador to the UK took Paddington bear to Japan to visit Studio Ghibli themed attractions

This feels endearing in a world where much of diplomacy is increasingly about hard power and brusque politics

Its so stark how if you're over 30ish you grew up in a world that idolised - & I mean fully *worshipped as a bedrock cultural law* - the idea that you should challenge yourself/become something better by trying something new... & now advertising-led tech is all like 'nah babe this isn't your thing'
"Imagine a world in which an A.I. can analyze your reading patterns and alert you that you’re about to buy a book where there’s only a 10 percent chance you’ll get past Page 6..."

Fuck off. That's not empowerment, that's outsourcing your soul. That's outsouling.
