You know what? This post just reminded me to donate to @wikipedia.org. It truly IS the last unenshittified major website - and that's definitely worth something.
wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

If you don’t think misogyny is a huge part of MAGA and Trump ever since Bannon activated the ‘monster energy’ of Gamergate against Hillary Clinton, think again.

As in Putin’s Russia, the desire to dominate, subjugate and kill women is the key psychopathology of Trumpism

No, autistics do not “lack empathy”: “Where researchers had assumed impairment, they found autistic people applying moral principles more consistently—even to strangers, even when costly.” By Ludmila Pradlova.

What the World Got Wrong About Autistic People
For decades, autism research compared autistic people to animals, denied them moral sensitivity, and assumed autistic traits made them miserable. All wrong.

Microsoft's own documentation says that Copilot is great, except for those rare circumstances where you're using your spreadsheet to do something with numbers, look up data, do finances, or need it to consistently return the same result.

Other than those outliers, you're grand.

The debate on immigration has become so toxic that we are in danger of not being able to talk about it at all - we need to change that because otherwise we could make the situation worse for all concerned. However hard it is, I won’t stop trying to change the conversation. If you agree please share.

I‘m discontinuing my social media use for the foreseeable future and I want to explain why.

I woke up in the new year to discover that some guy on here had saved photos I took on New Year’s Eve and used Grok to remove my clothes. I know this because he showed me.

Left unchallenged, Trumps actions in Venezuela set a troubling precedent international law is optional- undermining any sort of rules based world order.

Met a very polite woman at the pub toilets, both of us telling the other to go through the door first. Took a few beats too many to realise it was me in a full wall mirror.
I was on the bus, stood behind a very distinctive-looking girl I'd known since we were both kids and greeted her by prodding her on the shoulder and saying "Alright, dickhead?"
It wasn't her.
