You know, my lesbian mums didn’t want to have to explain vicious homophobia to me when I was a kid. If I had to deal with that, I think bigots’ children can deal with the mere existence of trans kids.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Spent the whole day selling pottery in my carport to absolutely lovely people but so hot!! Trotted up to Olympic Meats for dinner and a lovely young man offered me his seat in the waiting area: half thinking the young ones are good eggs and half ‘I must look my age tonight…’ (I took a spare stool)

What happened, @nytimes.com? Why not stand by your original headline? Because it’s absolutely an accurate representation of this trash conversation.

To publish this at all should be a fireable offense - but to publish it as women’s rights are being decimated is deeply immoral, bordering on evil

Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."

Juries are the last line of defense for democracy. The Constitution provides an absolute right to a jury trial, and if the crimes of the state are egregious enough, a jury will not convict those who stand against that state.

Catching up on tonight’s #abc730 and one of the most useful tips I’ve heard for flood areas is always keep an axe in your roof space to chop your way out if the worst happens. You do not need much skill, space or strength to chop through weatherboard or a tin roof with an even halfway sharp axe.
