I mean, I absolutely don't get KAWS. There's not a lot to get, but there's a lot of surface-level artists who are legitimately more fun. But there's no question that "red-chip" art is about trying to use money to shift the locus of what's cool...

I had so convinced myself the band was referencing Mark Portugal that I was scared if I made a jokey reference to Mark Portugal I'd get a flood of eye-roll-you-don't-get-it resplies, but after a sec of jetlagged Wiki-ing it turns out the band's name has nothing at all to do with Mark Portugal.

Obviously, as an MPH would received GradPLUS loans, I have skin in this game. But honestly, an MPH can be approximated via other fields. Taking out nursing is truly, truly horrific and deliberately creating a nursing shortage will kill tens or hundreds of thousands.

In grad school, I helped piece together a clinical review on the impact of media on severe eating disorders. At that point, we weren't really discriminating between "the Internet" and "social media," but in retrospect it's obvious that the curation potential of social media...
I'm not even on the side of tiktok where I'm seeing these women, for the most part. I'm on the side of tiktok telling people to block these women unless you want to see someone die
