Refugee from the space formerly known as the Bird app. Definitely left; getting to love the eastern suburbs (Wellington) via walkways.

Just here to say that the best person I know in the whole world has a birthday today. No, he's not on Bluesky. But it's always nice to know that there are good people in the world.

Does anyone else feel like we're on the precipice of global war right now? Because of the insane warblings of a demented old man?
I suppose that the prophecy is accurate: the world ends not with a bang, but with a whimper.

Why does this feel like 🎯
I know this is a radical notion these days, but the desire of pols and media to get their Election Night binge drink on ASAP should NOT be the primary focus of our election laws
Pass it on.

Just watched the Netflix documentary on the Grenfell tower fire. I didn't realise that nobody has been held accountable. The multiple failures of government and corporations are incredible and mind boggling. Cameron, Pickles, the council and the CEOs should be in jail.

1) the cosmos is filled with such incredible wonder that it stops my breath to think of it.
2) venus has sulphuric acid clouds, a carbon dioxide atmosphere that is 464c at surface level at 92 atmospheres, and its still more habitable than mars.

These are real images of exoplanets.
Four super-Jupiters, imaged 10 times over 12 years around a star 133 lightyears away.
These are real, giant worlds, out there in the dark.
And we can see them.

I'm very concerned about the India/Pakistan conflict right now. Our media has downplayed the potential of a nuclear conflict but it seems closer than it's been since 1963.
Can someone please take the boys' thumbs off the nuclear button? That'd be great. Thanks.
