I don’t know what to say about artists still being on twitter. Whatever numbers you think you’re getting there is fake and inflated by bots and nazis, now they added a genAI button to directly slopify images right off your own posts. The time to leave was years ago.

My shop sales took a big hit when I left twitter and it was also where I made the most connections for freelance, I know it sucks leaving a platform that benefited you. But what twitter used to be is long gone, give it up.

Agreed. It's heartbreaking when I see teachers telling kids to "just use AI for the art part" because it can do it "better" or "faster". It can't. Please don't do this to kids. You have no idea whose artistic spirit you're crushing. Same with writing. Help them figure out how to do it THEMSELVES.
I'm a comics creator. Every time I lead a workshop with kids, I see their absolute joy in drawing with their OWN HANDS. If you deny kids that joy by forcing them to type prompts into a computer, you're failing as an educator.

the qrt i think is necessary for education but these ddos attacks are industry wide between the MMOs right now. have been for a couple months now. it's something genuinely every MMO is experiencing; or at least most of the heavy hitters. The datacenters also gotta be held accountable

I've seen some people saying that the new SFWA rule on "AI" in the Nebulas will prevent people from being transparent about their LLM use. Newsflash: They wouldn't have been anyway. It would cost them readers. It would cost them votes. It would potentially cost them opportunities with publishers.
