Maryland. Dad.
Planning my next vacation at almost all times. Into games, grills, and all that other cliché stuff elder millennials like to do.

Going to start a new thread counting down to our next vacation. Below is the previous one - 53 days of my favorite pictures I've taken at Universal Orlando that led up to our first visit to Epic in June.

Going to try my best not to reuse any from this thread! With that - let the countdown begin...
Photo thread of #Universal Orlando photos to countdown to the upcoming trip.

53 Days to go.

Me setting a 7am alarm for work: This isn't fair. Capitalism is destroying my life. I can hit snooze 3 times.

Me setting a 7am alarm for roller coasters: Should it be earlier? Better make it 6:30. I feel so alive.

My kid just BARELY cleared 40" today at Universal and oh my god I've never felt such joy.

I hope everyone can someday, somehow, experience the feeling of getting off The Simpsons Ride, thinking "yeah thats due to be put down", and then have a child say "THATS MY NEW FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD!"

I am so stressed out from work I thought I lost my favorite hat - an Earl the Squirrel hat - on my flight. It just wasnt on my head and i couldn't feel it under the seats. No recollection of taking it off. I sat for 2 hours just wondering why Im struggling. Couldn't text or talk, just on the flight.

As a huge Nick Lutsko fan - his serious music, his covers, his comedy stuff - its all fantastic. But there's one thing we are not talking about nearly enough.

His ability to "Yeow!", "woo!" And "Oh!" Is absolutely unmatched by any modern musician. Best part of every song of his.

Maybe related, but I went to Disney World this year, and did you know they don't have the actual characters there anymore? Now it's just people wearing costumes.

I always love Drew Magarys articles, and this is no exception, but it feels incredibly important.

I hit the point a month ago where AI slop from my family of my kid as a cartoon or something was no longer funny or cute. Dont make exceptions. Dont smile at it. Explain its evil, and cut it off.

Absolutely insane to me that there's people who dont feel the magic when they're doing things for others.

Christmas is arguably MORE magical because when im faking letters from the elf on the shelf and coordinating Santa visits, all for my kid, Im having the time of my life.
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

I hate that I have to do it, but I think I have to turn smart features back on in GMail.

Tried to switch to Proton Mail and apparently I can only have like 2 filters without paying to upgrade. The amount of spam I get I can't keep up with.

For my sanity I need it back until I can figure it out.

Reposting this so I hopefully remember to answer tomorrow. Great great question.
Fun question.

“One Small Child,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and (technically), “Let There Be Peace On Earth,” are the religious favs.

Secular? “Favorite Christmas Story,” “Silver Bells,” and “It’s Not Christmas (‘Til Somebody Cries).”

But I adore Christmas songs.
What is your favorite "Christian" Christmas song and what is your favorite "Secular" Christmas song?

I will probably always adore "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" for Christian.

And "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" for secular.

Honestly getting very into the magician Justin Willmans show on Netflix and doing a live Zoom magic show with him.

Never done anything like it before, and probably never will again. Just like, 50 folks on a zoom hanging out while he did magic. It was so fun and special.
What's a charming memory you have from the worst period of the pandemic?

The more that I think about it that KPop Demon Hunters part in the Fortnite finale is one of my favorite gaming moments ever actually.

My son screaming, the music kicking in, Moe Syzlak in a helicopter while Superman flies by and Winter Soldier runs under him.

It was the stupidest cool.
November 29, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Fortnite finale was insane. My 4 year old went nuts when the Kpop Demon Hunters showed up. I laughed like an idiot at The Bride picking up Moe for the Simpsons. Insane, fun, appointment gaming. Never done anything like that before.
