It's official: Robert F. Kennedy Jr, an anti-vaxxer, AIDS-denialist, and conspiracy theorist has been confirmed to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. This is a highly partisan move that will harm all people in the US. We must commit to fighting his disinformation as he takes office.

I'm in the STEM field and know nothing about history, but Bluesky has some excellent historians helping us understand the world right now. This text by @davidmotadel.bsky.social is a must-read.

History is indeed a long game.

We need to stop using "herd immunity" for #COVID. Just stop. COVID reinfection is as bad as the original infection.

Since it was first discovered, SARS-CoV2 has been acquiring 2 mutations in its genome every 2 weeks.

'Herd immunity' can't control a virus that does not generate proper immunity.

Hey #Booksky if you’re in the US and looking to step away from the zon for physical books can I highly recommend Thrift Books?

They donate and partner with non-profits to support school libraries in underserved areas, and prison libraries. Plus, the book prices are *very good*

I know it may not seem like it sometimes, but if you’re a writer, painter, sculptor, comedian, DM/GM, craftsperson, etc…

You’re an artist. Even if you think your work is “bad,” it’s still art, and that act of creation is never a waste.

Okay, I trust mine to protect me too. Which is why I trained it extensively on what the virus looks like so it can handle it.
