You know why Bill & Hillary refused that subpoena? Because it was BS but also because if you indict them it kicks in discovery and you have to release all of the Epstein files. That is how you do it! Make them take this sham shit to a court and force it to a head because they are full of shit!

I would've said nothing before I told my constituents "I didn't know what I was doing."

Never mind an election, I'd be finding out if we can recall his ass.
lol how stupid do the Dem collaborators think we are?

you can either read a budget and know what you were funding. or you can't read a budget and shouldn't be a politician

Either way the response is the same: don't vote for anyone who funds ice.

Yup!! I was telling my cousin this the other night. She’s a WW. They are going to throw her right jig saw faced ass right under the bus even though I am sure that it is Stephen Miller calling the shots.
Oh, there are about to be multiple tire marks on her body from the bus that'll run over her. Then they'll put her on trial so the men don't have to face consequences yet. She signed up for this evil, gleefully. Oh well.
so bari definitely got the heads up that noem is being shitcanned, right?

It is totally fine for people who have been harmed to hear an apology and refuse to accept it. To acknowledge it and never trust the person saying it. To expect more than words. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable because the real world does not function like a sitcom.

I will never understand the rush to forgive white supremacist fanboys for the harm they enabled as soon as they decide it isn't fun to be hateful anymore. Sure there are some who have actively worked to make amends, but tons more will pay lip service and then start the cycle all over again

This is why we had Jim Crow instead of truth and reconciliation after slavery ended. People are so quick to absolve anyone who pays lip service to changing their mind about human rights violations instead of letting them live with the social consequences of their words
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

White folks have been oppressed for exactly one business month and they are crashing out.
Then go ahead and get things done.

Someone saying "what took you so long" should be the absolute last of your worries.
We need everyone we can get in this fight against a fascist takeover.

If your first instinct to someone being politically mobilized by all this is to give them a sneering "well, what took you so long?" you don't actually care about our winning this; you just want to be able to say you were right.

Backtracking after backlash means backlash works. Also, saying didn't know what you're doing means you shouldn't be in Congress.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

The Minnesota civil resistance campaign has been remarkably successful:

- The GOP governor candidate dropped out
- Numerous DOJ officials resigned
- GOP members of Congress are speaking out; business feels pressure
- Noem has been relieved of operational responsibility

The campaign is winning.

Folks are laughing about this, but I hope amongst the chuckles y'all are preparing for further escalation, because that's what these guys are setting the stage for.

The Kyle Rittenhouse types already signed up to work for ICE.

They chose to join. They chose to participate. They chose inhumanity. They chose violence. They chose to keep working after being told what they had to do. They can choose to quit. But I feel no sympathy for anyone associated with ICE. They’re a disgrace and deserve every negative response they get.

You all know I've been saying FOR WEEKS that this needed to happen to strategically focus on what's happening at DHS. They need to USE this to do shadow hearings across the country, to call for the complete dismantling of ICE (yes) but also the apparatus of detention, to get local media coverage.

ICE is not acting like Gestapo. They are acting like the slave catchers many of their ancestors were. If you go right to calling them Gestapo without knowing the Gestapo was modeled after slave catchers and this was the model for US law enforcement, you don't know American history and we are f'd!

Seriously, folks, people did NOT vote for murder on the streets. A majority of those who voted went for Trump, and to win power, those against Trump will have to win many of them over, not reject them all as people who want fascism.
