I’m so devastated to learn of the passing of Mohammad Bakri. I think about his film Jenin, Jenin constantly. That he was able to build such an incredible career as an artist despite being the target of Israeli authorities is inspiring in ways I can’t describe. My heart is completely broken

In a year that made us feel like we were standing by, dumbstruck, as the world fell apart, I wrote about the 2025 movies that bore witness to all that was taken from us www.avclub.com/2025-cinemat...
In memoriam: 2025's cinematic obituaries mourned their losses before our eyes

Qesser Zuhrah and Amu Gib have been on hunger strike for 46 days.

They are at serious risk of death.

They are in prison because the UK would prefer to lock up young opponents of mass murder than stop facilitating genocide.

The Home Secretary must intervene.

Shot - chaser - finisher

The EHRC admits there's no way to enforce anti-trans exclusion using paperwork.

Therefore it's only possible using gender stereotypes.

Therefore they defend excluding basically anyone who might be suspected of being trans.

A recipe for utter chaos.

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."
