A lone sunflower, small, but in bloom in late November. Not an intentional planting but from the seeds for the birds. Life provides small gifts all around us.
My young adult son with autism rediscovered his jewelry kit and Legos over the last couple days. It has kept his hands and mind focused and his device idle. There have been zero meltdowns or confrontations and he's calm. When things click, they click. #Autism #Lego #Focus

These declines are MASSIVE.

And the comparative silence in media coverage is absolutely DAMNING.

“Why are ppl always so afraid of crime?”

THIS is why. When crime goes up, media trips over itself to report it.

Falls to pre-war (!!) levels? Just CRICKETS.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

Who are the Venezuelan immigrants Trump sent to CECOT?

Earlier this year, our team compiled a first-of-its-kind, case-by-case accounting of 238 Venezuelan men who were held in El Salvador.

These are their stories.

Not all fruitcake is the same. My grandmother would make it every year and it was wonderful! It takes time, planning, and practice. Church windows was another treat she'd make and the only way I'd eat coconut.
The trifecta of sugar, low moisture ingredients and some high-proof spirits make fruitcakes some of the longest-lasting foods in the world (from 2021)

my first @theguardian.com: I wrote about this year's "Drag Queen Christmas" tour stop in Pensacola, FL, which from the 1950s-70s hosted America's biggest LGBTQ event; the state AG tried to get the "demonic" show canceled.

I talked to Florida drag queens and supporters that refuse to go underground:
A Florida official wants to cancel a sold-out Christmas drag show. The queens are performing anyway

"Recognition Economy" is just gaslight-lingo for "Surveillance Capitalism".

The so-called "vehicle fingerprint" is the metadata it collects from the vehicle's cellular system and WiFi, as well as the MAC ID and IMSI of each driver's cell phone and any other devices.
Two of the city's largest parking garages are now using artificial intelligence to recognize your car

Chuck Hightower (D)- 37.7%
