With friends like these, who needs Republicans?
Cutting property taxes for Oregonians affected by wildfires. Canceling planned freeway tolls. Pausing local new taxes in the Portland area. We have to keep going to make life more affordable for Oregonians.

Yeah, I was trying to get treatment a couple years ago and needed a letter of medical necessity. The MD I was seeing was like -yeah, no problem, I had my MD write an LMN for new paddleboards, you can get anything!-
Another new a16z idea: giving letters of medical necessity to anybody so they can commit tax fraud

Between funding social media bot farms, crypto, and prediction markets, this company represents the new era where tech is mostly just for fraud

So I had jury duty this week and the judge explained the role of intent in crimes with a car crash example:
willingly hit a pedestrian = intent
drunkenly hit a pedestrian = reckless
space out and hit a pedestrian = no crime
We have so much work to do to eliminate fatal and serious injury crashes and that should always be the priority and it also only represents a fraction of safety issues on the system. We have to get people out of cars. Why on earth do we trust people w death machines

very funny that this guy is insisting that it would be impossible to make a fast food restaurant ACROSS THE STREET FROM A HIGH SCHOOL work without a drive through
A business owner's effort to rebuild a historic Dairy Queen on SE Division and 56th Ave faced problems from the start. Now, the franchisee is duking it out with the city over the inclusion of a drive-thru at the ice cream shop, which he thinks is necessary for the DQ to succeed.
Drive-Thru Debacle Threatens to Keep Historic Dairy Queen in a Deep Freeze

Anyway, if you want to provide commentary about the 60’ curb cut and three drive aisles on Division, the planner managing this permit is Andrew Gulizia. Thank them for their time.

Elected Democrats spending more time today praising Dick Cheney than Zohran Mamdani is a great case study in abject fucking moral failure.

A federal judge said the USDA must use SNAP contingency funds to pay out benefits during the shutdown; however, it’s unclear how soon people will receive them or how much they’ll receive. If you need help with groceries, the County has a list of food pantries, programs and other resources.

I mentioned this stat from Alisa Wood of KKR in a talk I did a few weeks ago, but did you know: There are more private equity firms in the United States than there are McDonald's? (~19,000 vs. 14,000) In 1980, there were 24 PE firms *total* in the U.S. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I've been compiling this list since yesterday afternoon, and am heartened and moved by the generosity of Portland's food world - restaurants, food carts, cafes, farmers markets. 33 businesses so far are providing free food/meals to SNAP recipients. #snapmeals #portland #bridgetownbites

I’m proud to see so many in our Portland community stepping up to make sure all have access to healthy and joyful meals while the federal government is failing us. Thanks for posting this list @bridgetownbites.bsky.social!

affordable housing and universal basic income would create so much joy in the world
makes me weep to think of the gifts robbed from us because unaffordable housing has made it difficult for people to pursue their passions and hobbies

ironically, only one of them is being framed as a threat to jews by the national media.

spoiler: it's not the one with the nazi tattoo.
Mamdani and Platner are two pretty different visions of the future of the Democratic party.

I know which one gives me hope, and which one has a Nazi tattoo on it.
