If you were to listen to the same people promoting all of this, then yesterdays massive protests never would have happened, much less have been as big as they were.
Mainstream journalism is BADLY misreading - if not intentionally misrepresenting - the current moment and where the nation is.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.
There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

The Trump administration blamed Biden for a $400 million federal government contract with Elon Musk's Tesla to build armored electric vehicles. But NPR obtained documents showing the Biden administration only approved $483,000, not the $400 million that the Trump-Musk administration wanted.
A new document undercuts Trump admin's denials about $400 million Tesla deal
The State Department claimed a plan to buy thousands of armored Teslas was left over from the Biden administration. A document obtained by NPR shows the Biden plan was far smaller.
