Half day of work because I'm the Sunday librarian this and next week. I: did the graphic design for upcoming exhibit, approved edits for other exhibit I contributed to, taught a class (that I had forgotten about until prof emailed me at the start of the class), and started dealing w 3 new requests.

All of the companies that make the software I use are increasing their prices, to account for an "investment" in AI.

I'm sat here imagining how my clients would feel if I added 30% to each invoice, because I "really got into gambling".

I'm not going to RT the fucking Atlantic but I do want to remind everyone that one in four U.S. adults is disabled, so one in five students accessing accommodations at their uni is among the most non-story stories ever penned.

I opened my bag of Upton Tea's ginger, carrot, beetroot herbal blend. It's a bit sweeter than I expected (not shocking once you actually think about the ingredients) but nicely balanced. I'll happily drink more. #tea

Trying to plan my outfit for the AI panel I'm on tomorrow, where I get to be the "fuck AI" person. I COULD look generically adult professional but where's the fun in that?

My arms ache down to the bones. Right elbow has a tendonitis flare, so not unexpected, but the left? I'm assuming the temp in my work space being below 60F, plus weather changes. Bodies are dumb.

Me: I'll be good and stop reading my book, despite there being under an hour left, so I can go to bed earlyish.

Also me, more than an hour later: doom scrolled then started another book.

Does it strike anyone as weird that we have a ratings board that counts the number of times a movie says fuck or shows a boob and decides who is allowed to see it, and yet GenAI was dropped on the entire with no restrictions, no age verification, no checks, no regulation whatsoever?

Low energy day, so, while I managed to get the turkey cooked, going with just leftover roasted garlic mashed potatoes and microwaved peas as sides. Might make the planned crostata later, or just eat straight whipped cream for dessert.
