Let me be very clear. It is not enough that RFK Jr. was forced to admit today that no causal relationship between Tylenol and autism has been shown.

We know that while disinformation spreads like wildfire on social media, corrections most often die on the vine.

Covid & Cancer
There is now compelling medical evidence that Covid-19 infections can reactivate dormant cancer cells, and trigger the growth of secondary cancers.

The More You Get Infected, the More Likely You’ll Get Long COVID

People still think long COVID is rare. Like it only happens to anxious people. Or people who “did it wrong.” Like there’s some moral math to this. If you got sick, it’s because you panicked too much. (1/18)

It would help a lot of more effort was made to normalize wearing masks. It's just obvious. Smoky outside? Wear a mask. Feel like you're coming down with something? Wear a mask when around others. COVID surge? Measles outbreak? In a high risk situation? At a clinic/hospital? Wear a mask.

@mikehoney.bsky.social I noticed in this last week's VirusWAtch for WA they are now mentioning NB.1.8 where did that variant come from and how prevalent is it in other states of Aus? Our wastewater suddenly has it at over 50%!

The United States is the richest country in the history of the world. But who benefits from those riches?

Consider: the richest 10% of Americans hold nearly 70% of the nation’s wealth – while the bottom 50% hold just 3%.

See the problem?

I understand wanting to go 'back to normal'. Pandemics are traumatizing

But they don't end when we decide we've had enough. The threat doesn't go away because we have 'Covid fatigue'

We must stop denying the reality that Covid is still with us, still killing & disabling. We can beat it together.

“I’m not worried about Long Covid”

Of course you’re not. Most people weren’t worried about it, until it happened to them

This is true of most disabilities. People think they’re the exception. That we’ve done something “wrong”. It’ll be different for them

Disability can & does happen to everyone.

From populists on the right, but also from establishment figures desperate to bury their responsibility, there's an ongoing push to bury the harms of COVID.

Long COVID alone costs 7M life-years (QALYs) and on the order of a trillion dollars a year in the OECD.

Pandemics change people. We aren’t used to dealing with the mass death, disability & uncertainty that comes with them

Unfortunately due to technology & misinformation, society is choosing NOT to process its collective trauma

It IS changing us. Not for the better. We’re detached, colder & apathetic
