perhaps the BBC could report on Liz Truss talking politics with the guy who wrote this
MAGA folks and their dreams of dictatorship are so boring. But I guess it shows how desperate they're getting, and how much they know they're losing.

A society cannot function for long at this level of “Nobody knows what’s going on.” We are not forced to wonder what’s happening in a figurative sense where we struggle to grasp the whys or hows; we literally cannot figure out what happened, after it happened, if it did happen.

Circling the drain.

These guys are constantly haunted by the nagging fear that the future that they are creating will be, as they put it, 'fake and gay'.
“In the end, is Lindsey offering us Prometheanism? Or just repackaged patriarchy? One starts to hear echoes of Charles Haywood's "Foundationalist Manifesto," which (. . .)combines radical technological visions with retrograde gender and political norms.” www.liberalcurrents.com/are-we-prome...
Are We Prometheans? "The Permanent Problem," Reviewed
The future requires a vision of gender that is not some reskinned picket-fence fantasy, but a true human ideal.

Most underrated Biden admin mistake was bailing out Silicon Valley Bank.

SVB bet big on low interest rates and lost. Rich tech VCs who put too many eggs in that basket generated a bank run, then called for govt money.

Got their bailout, helped elect Trump, and now reaping rewards from corruption.
David Sacks, presumably, on the push by some in the tech and VC world to fund a primary challenge to Congressman Khanna.

More relevant is the history of "empire by private contract"--essentially, letting lunatics wild out and declare themselves god-emperors of various tracts of land occupied by others--which I analyzed at length in my book last year, discussing the broligarchs and their political agenda.

The median INS agent did not carry a weapon on their person.

The median ICE officer carries both a long and short gun.

They were heavily militarized based on an absurd premise that Al Qaeda was going to "invade America" in meaningful numbers for the actual reason of disciplining labor

I've been saying this for some time. Curtis Yarvin is the least original public thinker since Adrian Vermeule. Yarvin is retreaded Aleksandr Dugin. Vermeule is Carl Schmitt in translation. And they're linked, too. Dugin bases everything on the writings of Ivan Ilyin—one of Carl Schmitt's students
Amazing the degree to which the philosophy of tech fascism seems to come straight from Alexandr Dugin—Vladimir Putin's version of Curtis Yarvin.

"Antichrist" theme, "multipolarity," democracy as "global dictator"

They should be paying him royalties, if they aren't already.

A genuinely dispiriting thing about covering sexual violence is how often the suffering of women and children is metabolized as political point-scoring or titillating entertainment.
one lesser awful thing about the Epstein files is that genuine crimes against a huge number of children are being morphed into fuel for the influencer industrial complex who don't care about truth or accuracy and just want grist for the content mills

it's odd to see the people who can accurately assess Bari Weiss isn't a good journalist and failed upward into her role as chief brunchlord, but can't take the additional leap to realize this is part of an active plot by extraction class media ownership to actively destroy journalism and consensus

Bari Weiss’ CBS is what the tech fascists mean by creating “parallel” journalism.

Create new fake brands (“The Free Press”) or hollow out existing brands and replace with right-wing clones.

Or both!

That’s why I included her in the “Mirror World Mafia” last year.

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

So much has gone wrong in US press reporting on Trump because the White House reporters are people who have exclusively covered US politics.

They need people who have worked in Hungary, Turkey, etc. The relevant knowledge isn't Reagan factoids; it's the dynamics of competitive authoritarianism.

“Post-liberalism” means two things:

1) I like the fascism, but I don’t think of myself as the sort of person who’d be into something so uncouth.

2) The woke made me do it, but since everyone’s opposed to liberty now, why don’t we acknowledge that some races, genders, and religions are lesser.
