Not sure what’s more mortifying: having to get a Pap smear at all or today the eye doctor asking me “so it looks like you cry a lot?”

It’s important to contextualize just how much less safe American drivers are than everywhere else in the world, and it’s getting worse!

🚨 BREAKING: Oversight Dems received 95,000 new photos from Jeffrey Epstein's estate. These disturbing images raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world.

Time to end this White House cover-up. Release the files!

A male Red-bellied Woodpecker perches on a snowy branch. One of the historical nicknames for this bird is "Chad," which comes from one of the harsh and short calls this bird makes.

In retrospect it probably wasn’t good for our national mass psychology to release a decade’s worth of superhero movies where the heroes are narrated as defenders and protectors while leaving destroyed public spaces, infrastructure, and communities in their wake

I saw this and was like okay Ross Douthat or Bret Stephens wrote this obviously and I leaned towards one. I was wrong on my lean but right in my overall guess.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

Europe must “persuade younger Europeans that their heritage, culture and way of life — a fundamentally Christian civilization leavened and improved but not erased by the values of the Enlightenment — are worth defending,” our columnist Bret Stephens writes.

Shit like this is pretty normalized, even if this is a particularly egregious example, and the normalization is why that OU student doesn’t think she did anything wrong
She compares the boat strikes to Jesus breaking the sabbath to heal someone.

Journalists in the U.S. are seeing their access restricted, their visas threatened, and their safety put into question.

We agree with @rsf.org in calling on FIFA and the host governments to guarantee the freedom and safety of journalists before, during, and after the 2026 World Cup.

(Washington, DC, December 3, 2025) – FIFA, the international soccer governing body, needs to match its lofty rhetoric on rights with concrete action, a coalition of human rights organizations…

This is not really the main point here but I read that essay weeks ago and reread it this morning. The student doesn’t even cite the Bible. The student references ideas which they claim are Biblically supported but does not cite the Bible at any point
Oklahoma University has placed a grad student instructor on admin leave for failing a psychology paper on gender for citing *the Bible* as a source of empirical evidence.

In response, OU has placed on instructor on admin leave citing, get this, the FIRST AMENDMENT.

Universities are cooked.

God, what have you done?
You’re a pink pony girl
And you dance at the club
Oh mama, I’m just having fun
On the stage in my heels
It’s where I belong

🎶 🎶 🎶
On my own
Would I wander through this wonderland alone
Never knowing my right foot from my left
My hat from my glove
I'm too misty, and too much in love
