Santa gave kiddo a game called Monkey See Monkey Poo, which involves a plastic monkey extruding banana scented brown playdoh out its butt, and flinging it.

Well that's neat. KPop Demon Hunters synchronized Christmas lights. Guessing this is the kind of thing Clark Griswold would be (trying) to get up to nowadays.

Worth keeping in mind that when we add "Sign in with Google" to a service, we truly are delegating access to our user accounts to Google.

Of course Google has strong internal controls but we would likely never know it they failed or were abused.

A lot of trust for a privacy-focused product.

The pile of Christmas presents is bigger than the tree. The polycule might be 3/4 bah humbug, but they sure do like giving each other things.

Some of the magic blue smoke escaped from my battery setup that I use for camping and power outages and such. Spent a few hours burning my fingers trying to solder it back together, but it’s a no go, too much blue smoke escaped, it’s dead. Will take more serious techromancy to bring back to life.

If we achieved actual artificial intelligence/sentience in current times, we would be inventing a new form of slavery. A class of sentient beings with no rights, made for the whims of the upper class to work for them. That's the only possible outcome.

We have NO business attempting to make artificial sentience in a world where we do not respect the existence of the current sentient people alive right now. We do not deserve AI. The rich don't deserve the benefits, and the poor don't deserve the consequences.

Cluster portion of headache resolved already. Learning that oxygen helps clusters has been so helpful. You can buy cans of O2 meant for hiking & biking & such, can get them most places you can buy mountain gear. A few puffs of concentrated O2 can help cluster headaches (and some other things too)

There’s that stress induced cluster headache I’ve been expecting. Meds already taken.

Folks could have read Morgan Ames's book and came to the same conclusion. But good to have the econometricians confirm.

Like most couples, @hapabara.bsky.social and I have developed fun shorthand:

I am baby: I require your complete and nonjudgmental help.
My people need me: I'm leaving for physical/mental health, don't rely on me for a bit.
I'm invoking Star Trek rules: I just need you to believe me on this one.
