Newgrange is an amazing feat of engineering but there is also something deeply human and Irish about how they built it for a time of year when the weather is basically never good enough for it to properly work. Anyway the livestream is magic

Cloudy ot not, using modern technology to allow us to continue to witness something the people who lived on our island built in connection with the seasons and the universe thousands of years ago is pretty cool, actually

The Irish govt needs to stop bullsh*itting and pass the Occupied Territories Bill already - for goods AND for services!
Also; Blinne ní Ghrálaigh KC rocks!

Right now Sinn Féin are the biggest barrier to a future free from Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael ideology.
When the lead opposition party are dropping the ball this badly they have some ownership of the current state of affairs. #spéirgorm

I was going to say I can’t believe they’re letting this happen, but I can.

Shocking that it’s happening so quietly though. Are they really going to let one of these principled young people die??

While Amazon is investing billions of dollars to expand AI, independent bookstores are hosting community events, personally recommending books to readers, and providing a space that is safe and welcoming during a time when we need them most.

Never underestimate the power of a local bookstore.

Today I experienced misogyny as Gaeilge.
Dropped a parcel to the post office, postie took it, I said "go raibh maith agat", to which he replied "maith an cailín". 😐

Probably time to point out that the government has in all likelihood already promised lobbyists and foreign powers to do away with the triple lock and spend billions on war matèriel, and now all that remains is to manufacture consent.
This is all part of that process.

Tuesday Dec 16th is the last day An Post say they can guarantee pre Christmas delivery for orders shipped by that date. This is earlier than other years , partly due to the collapse of Fastway and increased parcel volumes this year.
Obviously, we'll continue to ship every day up until 23rd.

The Last Unicorn in Kilmallock, Whale Rider in Perth, and then Finding Nemo in Sydney. Surreal to leave a cinema and see the city IRL that I'd just watched in cartoon.

Well this has broken containment and I can’t possibly keep up but, generally: hell yeah, keep going to see movies in theaters, as long as Netflix or Paramount or whoever lets us
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
