Shaw said he talked to Counsell, Hoyer and consulted 4-5 Cubs veterans because he was in turmoil about going.

"I made sure everybody I talked to I had their support, that they knew why I was going, that I wasn't leaving just to leave, that it was something that was really important to my faith."
Matt Shaw just spoke on decision to miss Cubs game Sunday to attend Charlie Kirk's memorial in AZ. He was invited by Kirk's wife Erika.

Shaw said they met in offseason while living in same apt complex, they bonded over faith & Kirk being big Cubs fan. Shaw said Kirk would text him after every game.

NEW: A group of appeals court judges openly struggled with — and in some cases criticized — the Supreme Court's terse and vague shadow docket rulings. One said they've left lower courts "in limbo," forcing them to interpret "signals"

This is not what you say when you want political violence to stop. This is what you say when you want to go to war against the American people.

Charlie Kirk spent his life‘s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.

Daylen Lile’s three triples are tied for the most by a player in a series of any length at Wrigley Field

AI converts simpletons into monsters, turns lonely people insane, and it does so by looting public resources, destroying the planet, and stealing from the creative. It’s not revolutionary. It’s just Facebook 2.0. But now every tech oligarch can get in on the ground floor.

Don't repeat right wing talking points against immigrants, poc & lgtbq communities. Stop taking corporate money. Stop supporting Israel's genocide. Stand up for marginalized communities attacked by Trump. Fight based on values not corporate consultants. Support Mamdani not Cuomo. Abolish ice.
Serious question… what would you like to see Dems do? I hear this statement quite a bit but no suggestions follow. TY

Proponents of genAI never want to engage with the obvious, immediate environmental harm that those tools cause. Consumers are supposed to “get used to it” like it’s inevitable while the resource consumption of genAI goes unquestioned & unchallenged.

Imagine if when Democrats got in power they enacted policies so left wing that even in the most leftist districts only 15% supported it. It's hard to even think what that would be.

Forced collectivization of farms? Executing landlord? Even that might break the 15% barrier somewhere.
There is not a single congressional district in the U.S. where more than 15% of voters support cuts to SNAP, the federal program that provides food assistance to millions of low-income Americans.
