i will say again that given the trajectory of the white house so far, strident opposition a la 2017 would have absolutely been the most prudent and effective decision and the absence of that opposition in the first two months made things demonstrably worse.

I really would like people to not focus on 2026, but to realize that the way things are going in America, there won't be elections in 2026, or 2028.

the american electoral system is basically 500,000 information-resistant people across a handful of states taking a guess and then going "haha! oops!" every two years. this process takes 18 months and costs four trillion dollars every time

Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive? Because the amount of resistance to addressing his being trafficked gives the distinct impression that either he is dead or what they have done to him is so unspeakable that they cannot afford for him to be freed, seen, or spoken with.

Once again a General Strike is needed.
REPORTER: There are laws on the book that make it a criminal offense to harbor illegal immigrants, like sanctuary state leaders have been doing. Do you think they should be prosecuted and possibly put in prison?

HOMAN: Absolutely. And hold tight on that one, because it's coming.

Your regular reminder that almost everything Trump is getting away with is not because of presidential strength, but because of congressional weakness and judicial deference.

The constitutional tools are already there to fix this, but those who can fix it are refusing to do so.

Medicaid work requirements have nothing to do with dignity of work. 92% are already working adequate hours or have an approved exemption, but people fall through the cracks because of administrative burden of reporting. To the extent that there's fraud, it's on the billing side, not the patient side
Mike Johnson on Medicaid: "What we've talked about is returning work requirements ... you return the dignity of work to young men who need to be out working instead of playing video games all day. We have a lot of fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicaid."

I worry this ruling will get SCOTUS headlines like “SCOTUS STANDS UP TO TRUMP!” But unless and until they ensure that the admin will make meaningful efforts - and really interrogate claims that admin can’t make it happen - I think people need to stay focused on this, demand return, & apply pressure
