Laughing at this has really cheered me up.

What a curse, having DNA from your, erm, ancestors.

A bluesky post of a screenshot of Instagram that's a screenshot of twitter that's a photo of a newspaper article. Might screenshot this and send it to a paper, for completeness.
The greatest story you’ll read today 😂😂🫡

I watched Interstellar the other night and when Kip Thorne's name came up I checked Wikipedia. It turns out this Nobel laureate isn't a member of the Royal Society, but Elon Musk is and remains to be.

This. The amount of vitriol I'm seeing from both sets is disturbing. And this is all from people who I thought shared the same goals and beliefs. Isn't all this bad blood just what Trump and his gang want?
I think about 60% of US posters on here, and 60% of European ones, are overdue their nap times right now.

I look forward to the day I do not wake with the thought "what has Trump said/done while I've slept".

Going to watch a series on Blu-ray that involves multiple discs. Think this counts as exercise.

Back in the early 90s at Software Creations I designed a Portable Assembly Language ( PAL ) with the intention of using it to develop games for 32/64 bit consoles. The ideal being that this pseudo assembly would generate native code for multiple processors. You only needed to write the game once 1/2

I love Wikipedia. I know it's not perfect but I can and do spend hours just following links. Reviewing the tabs on the app is always an amusing/interesting indirect history of my recent life.
wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

(1/3) Morning 4 mile walk. Grey, damp, everything damp, but not cold through the many layers I've swaddled myself into.

Browns. In this season, browns dominate, nature throwing on a 1970s fashion aesthetic. Wood, soil (mud), churned verges, dead leaves, more mud, mud that gets everywhere, horses!

Remember when Trump kidnapped the president of another country? That was nuts. When was that? Two, three years ago?

In Elon’s Starfleet, Worf is grabbed by ICE on his first day at the academy and deported through a wormhole.
"We want to make Star Trek real," said Elon Musk.

"We want to make Starfleet Academy real so that it's not always science fiction, but one day the science fiction turns to science fact."

Sometimes I let out an involuntary shudder, because I've just remembered the squeaky sound of Martin cutting his overcooked beef on Friday Night Dinner. Squeaky beef haunts me.
