This part (from the article) might be a good option, too: "Request a Manual Postmark: Customers may present a mail piece at a retail counter and request a 'manual (local) postmark.' This postmark is applied at the time of acceptance, so the date aligns with the date the USPS took possession."
Anyone dropping off a time-sensitive piece of postage (ballots, legal docs, etc) should start taking a photo of them selves dropping it off (with postage & postal address clearly showing) at a USPS mailbox to use as evidence later.

I don't know if it would count legally but it's worth a shot...
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

The only reference to Jan 6 riots in the Capitol visitor center (that I could find): “On January 6, 2021, Congress was engaged in certifying the Electoral College results when proceedings were interrupted.”

In late 2020 a Chinese man called Guan Heng travelled to Xinjiang with our BuzzFeed map of detention facilities to provide ground truth for our work - he provided the first corroborating evidence for many sites.

He escaped to the US - then ICE detained him.

Heng Guan is awaiting an immigration hearing on Monday that could lead to his removal from the U.S. and ultimately land him back in China, according to his lawyer and a New York-based activist group.

ICE are thug scum.
ICE detain U.S. citizen for looking Somali—use illegal chokehold to tackle him to ground.

Man repeatedly begs agents to look at his digital passport ID—they refuse.

Drove him 7 miles away before releasing him alone into Minnesota snow storm—told him to "walk home" in freezing weather advisory.

As awful as this, the focus on whether the woman was complying obscures the more important issue: in a democracy, there should not be armed agents demanding to see papers of every passing person.
“Traumatized, humiliated, degraded.”

The nurse, a US citizen, 4’11”, 85 lbs, says she was following orders when she was dragged out of her car by masked immigration agents in Florida.

It was the 3rd time she had been stopped and told to produce ID.

What does it say about this country that that the kind of open, rank bigotry Trump administration officials regularly express towards black immigrants apparently has no social cost because of the number of Americans who quietly agree or don't care.

As someone who has frequently defended free speech rights of sex workers and sex work advocates, it's completely unsurprising but nevertheless galling to be reminded once again how POWERFUL MEN talk fondly about sex work in private while demonizing it and pushing oppressive laws about it publicly.

It was always a lie that the focus would be deporting the worst of the worst. To get Dreamer/DACA status basically meant you were a Girl Scout or Boy Scout. And it's silly because many of these people got educated here since 2012 and now we're losing that talent and skill. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Dreamers were once obvious candidates for a path to citizenship. Now, they’re getting picked up, detained, and set for potential deportation.
Then they came for the Dreamers
Immigrants brought here as children were told they wouldn’t be deported. Now, they’re being targeted anyway.

A "lingering host of grotesque resentments" may be the best description of the Federalist Society's ethos that I have ever seen.
probably not good that we allowed a legal movement based on a lingering host of grotesque resentments to fester for several decades
