Literally would not exist without the kind of Federal support the current administration is slashing.

I never felt particularly safe because of my Green Card. I just felt that the state (and its enforcers) had little incentive to target me… until recently.

Good thread. To make the point: this is the best alternative *in general* at this point. Set up shadow services for the things they’re dismantling and make a difference for people wherever possible.
All these articles about Democrats moaning over their messaging issues make me tired.

My brother has been a wildfire fighter for 10+ years. His top safety advice to me has always been to be the first one on the road. It's doubly true with 0% containment and LA traffic. If you're thinking of evacuating, and your gut is telling you that you'll need to, don't wait for the order. Leave.
